Not only is Caesars Tahoe no longer a thing (as you already stated), but now no bus is necessary to go to Heavenly from Harrah's. You just take a short walk over to the Gondola, built in the 2000s, which whisks you to the middle of the mountain on the California side.
Here was my ride up the Gondola in January 2017, shortly after a big snow (and shortly before another big snow):
