Absolutely no comparison between Meloni and Mussolini. Meloni is a conservative. Mussolini was a socialist. He was a member of the Italian Socialist Party. When he was in power the official name of the country was the Italian Socialist Republic.
Mussolini nationalized the Italian Corporations and collectivized the labor. That is pure socialism....and that type of government is diametrically opposed by conservative values. Conservatives want government out of the way. They believe government is the problem. As Ronald Reagan said "The most dangerous words you will ever hear are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
Of course, progressive operatives will bark and scream that fascism is a far right ideology. Get the fuck out. Fascism and Communism are 1st cousins. They both grew out of Marxism.

Yes, the term "fascist" has been abused by the left in recent years, to describe Trump and his MAGA followers. The average American has been misled to believe that being fascist is equivalent to being far right. Totally untrue. Fascism is independent of political bent.
The modern US left has many fascist tendencies over the past several years. Among these:
- Protection of corporate power, and in return pressuring major corporations to push a desired political message
- Control of mass media / censorship of alternative media
- Identifying those of opposing political narratives as 'dangerous' and 'evil', and suppressing their speech under that justification
- Silencing the opposition via violence, public shaming, and threat of loss of livelihood
- Attacking those who are not all-in with the preferred political narrative, even if they are mostly in agreement
- Increased government control of citizens, sold under a narrative of necessity
The natural enemy of fascism is free speech. Guess which political party opposes free speech nowadays?
