iOS 15 jailbreak? Not so fast

It has been a year since iOS 15 was released for iPhone, and now iOS 16 has just been released.

But guess what, jailbreakers? You are still suck on iOS 14 (or worse) if you want a jailbroken phone! There is no known working iOS 15 jailbreak yet!

I found a pretty good rundown on the possible iOS 15 jailbreaks we might expect. Do not upgrade to iOS 16 unless you want to wait until possibly 2024 or later to jailbreak!

The Cheyote jailbreak would work on iOS 15-15.1.1.

The Fugu15 jailbreak would be an untethered jailbreak working on phones up to 15.4.1!

Unfortunately, neither of these are ready yet, and it may still be awhile. My favorite is still unc0ver, but they have not indicated they are working on an iOS 15 version. However, sometimes they just pop up out of nowhere, with a new version.

I will let you guys know when you can jailbreak iOS 15. I find the most useful features of jailbreaking are being able to spoof location, being able to block YouTube ads, and being able to download old versions of apps when a shit new version is released and you regret upgrading.

Geosn0w is back, and he is working on what will probably be the first successful iOS 15 jailbreak. All of the other iOS 15 jailbreak projects have failed or been abandoned thus far.

You will have to get used to another jailbreak app distribution platform, however, because they are not supporting Cydia.

So much for geosn0w. Nothing came of the above.

However I have some good news to report. iOS 15.0-15.4.1 have been jailbroken, for devices up through iPhone 13.

It is not yet recommended for the general public, and is not user friendly or stable. However, this is being worked on, and we should have a functional jailbreak for these iOS versions soon. This is important because many apps are no longer allowing you to download them if you have iOS 14 or below, and in fact some apps are forcing upgrades in order to continue working, so this makes iOS 14 increasingly unusable.

    Here are the details: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2023/0...15-max-beta-7/

Note that the details above are about 3 weeks old. Today, the developer released a final beta, which he claims is good enough for the average user. I would advise waiting for the full release, as this is likely to be both buggy and incompatible with a lot of tweaks/apps.

This jailbreak uses Sileo as a package manager, and not Cydia, so be aware of that.

It probably won't be that long until the final version is released. Impressive that the main developer here is just 22 years old.
