As I said on radio last night, I think he actually somewhat cleaned up a corrupt/shady government office, but also acted like an abusive asshole while doing it, plus had an affair.
This is why I think he's so outraged about the primary loss and the negative coverage by German. He saw himself as someone who (actually did) stop the intentional slow work and overtime abuse in the office, and made other positive changes, and felt that people bitter about it were smearing him. He was blind to his own faults which compounded the problem, especially the affair. He saw himself as a great leader of that office who was fucked by yellow journalism, and it probably caused a major rift in his marriage, as well. After 3 months of sitting around bitter about the whole thing, he snapped and went to murder German.
He lost in the primary to a long time assistant in the office, so the allegation that other employees were promised promotions very well could be true.
Also, interestingly, he came in third. The second place person is an unknown who ran no campaign but happens to have a female hispanic name. This smacks of dirty tricks to siphon votes. Close vote!

Honestly I think the guy legit was getting fucked in some ways. Sounds like the office was corrupt (like the Public Administrator's office I dealt with in 2013 in LA), and he tried to clean it up. He probably had poor people management skills and this plus the corruption cleanup angered people. I don't think Jeff German was in on any conspiracy to screw him, though. He was just reporting on the legit situation going on regarding the office drama and the affair, and Telles took it personally. Even if you've just cleaned up some corruption in your government office, if you start banging an underling, you can't cry foul when the word gets out and you're voted out of office, even if people were trying to get rid of you out of spite. Bottom line is that these consequences were his fault, though I have little sympathy for the corrupt employees who were bitter about the dude cracking the whip on them.

Listening to the segment on radio:
- He was wearing the "hazmat suit" after they interviewed him because during the interview they took the clothes he was wearing and that's what they gave him to change into.
- During their search of his house, they found a pair of shoes that were "cut up in a way to try to destroy evidence" that had specks of blood. They also found a cut up straw hat that appeared to be the same hat in the pictures.
- DNA came back from under Jeff Germans fingernails that turned out to be Rob Telles's DNA.
And I believe I read somewhere that the blood they found on the shoes in Telles's home came back to be German's blood.
They have a pretty open/shut case against this guy and he'll be found guilty of 1st degree murder.
I'm sure this guy is considered a "low level" elected official and wasn't privy to possible other corrupt things going on with other elected officials through Las Vegas, but I wouldn't be shocked if this guy "Jeffrey Epsteins" himself while in CCDC and there's no video of it, or his cell.

Basically it was a typical corrupt Public Administrator's office, and this Telles guy won the 2018 election to take over. He didn't like the intentional slow work and the tons of overtime being billed to taxpayers. He decided to crack the whip on everyone, but acted like an asshole about it. Everyone hated him because their sweet overtime was gone, and their easy jobs became tougher. Then he had an affair with a chick in the office, and they knew this was the chance to make him lose the next election. They went to that LVRJ reporter, and a story was done on the situation. He lost the Dem primary in June, so he was a lame duck in the office, being forced out in January 2023.
He was furious about this, believing he had done a great job cleaning up the fucked up office, and felt that his underlings and that reporter conspired to fuck him over. After festering about his loss for 3 months, he snapped and stabbed the reporter to death.
Crime was super sloppy and he got arrested quickly, with slam dunk evidence against him.
