Joe Rogan obviously "deserves" his audience because he organically got it. It's not like it was handed to him by a predecessor, Tonight Show style. Obviously he did something very right, and developed a huge following because he appeals to a ton of people.

He's not even a right wing figure. He just tilts the left because he has a huge audience (including many swing voters) and won't go along with their bullshit agenda.

Rogan is the leader of "new news media", and its not even really close. Thats more of an indictment on current "news" than praise of him, considering half his pods are with comedians/MMA related. During his more serious shows though, he is about the most impartial interviewer out there.

Reactions to his shows that were pandemic related were a perfect microcosm of current society. When he had medical professionals on who were basically stating the government line, you didnt hear a peep from the right....no trending on twitter. When he had skeptics on the show....."OMG CANCEL ROGAN DISINFORMATION!!" from the left all over twitter.
