Blacks are only 6% of the population of Cali and dropping. Cali either already is or very soon will be a Hispanic majority state, and the working class Hispanic community is going to want nothing to do with this reparation nonsense. This isn't going to fly anywhere but the most wealthy, progressive parts of the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and even in these areas only the progressive whites are going to run with it, with the sizable Asian/Indian population wanting nothing to do with it.

If the Democratic Party wanted to give California to the Republicans, there would be really no better way to go about it than to push for statewide reparations paid by taxpayers. And I am sure they know this. This is merely performative to appease the far left activist wing of the Dem party and will go nowhere. Probably all that will happen is that super progressive areas like Santa Monica and the Bay Area will continue to push their own limited versions of reparations at the local level.
