It's been hard work, but I've grinded myself a bit past starting stack again. #pfa70

That shaved me down to 61k. Ugly. Never ran into a flopped straight flush at the WSOP before. I currently have 64k. 34 min to play. Looks like this will probably end up a mediocre day.
Sad!

Ac4c in SB. Called raise pre from early loose raiser, BB called. Flop QT3 two clubs. Checks around. Turn 5s giving me gutshot draw too. Bet 2700, BB raises to 8200. Consider shoving (we have similar stack) but call. 5h river, checked. He had KJ. Down to 45k. #pfa70

Bruised pretty badly in last hour at WSOP Main Event. Went from 102k down to 44.8k, mostly thanks to flopping middle set against a straight flush. Nevertheless I move on with 56 BB to Day 2. #pfa70

We play 5 levels of a poker tournament today #pfa70 #WSOPMainevent
Didn't expect to run into a straight flush on the flop. No way to get away from it because the guy only had low-20,000s left in his stack after he flatted my flop bet, and the others all had folded.
Even had the board pair on the river, but our money was already in on the turn, and I knew I was drawing dead. Brutal. That's the first opponent flopped straight flush against me in my history at the WSOP.
I looked at tomorrow's table assignment. Fortunately I don't recognize any names, and only one person there has over 100k. So maybe I can fight my way back. Still have 56 BB, so I got some room to maneuver, but not a whole lot.

I didn't Day 2 register like @WillieMcFML insisted, and boy was I sorry. Returning with less than starting stack, 45k, to day 2 of the WSOP Main Event in 20 minutes.

I don't usually bust on Day 1. Since 2010, in 12 Main Events, I've made Day 2 eleven times. Seven of those 11 saw me also make Day 3, including 3 of the past 4.
However, I'm 0-for-4 in that span when coming into Day 2 with a below average stack, as I am today.

Played 3 small pots. Lost 2. I'm the oldest guy at the table. Guy to my direct left is quite aggro but doesn't have many chips.
I have like 40k #pfa70

The Main Event has had an older field for awhile now, typically averaging 40s. In 2019, I was the youngest at my Day 1 starting table, but oldest at mid Day 4 table. I was busted (128th) by one of the very few left older than me -- eventual champ Hossein Ensan!

This is the first time I've ever been the oldest at my Day 2 starting table. I didn't ask anyone's age, but nobody looks like they're 50. Lots of Euros at this table, too. I believe we will break in not too long. #pfa70

Bet 3k, late pos called, BB folds.
Turn 9. Check/check.
River 3. Check, he bets 11k into 12k pot. I tank, decide decent chance he has AQ. Call. He had AQ. Up to 57k.

I open raise button with A5o to 2200, SB shoves with 10.5k. I call.
He turns over.... A5o.
Rainbow flop assured a chop. I sit with 57k. We're playing 500/1000 now.
