In 2005, I reluctantly entered my first #
wsop event ever, the $1500 Limit Holdem. I almost busted early, but somehow got 3rd.
Now 17 years older, I embark on my quest to finally get 2nd.

Playing the exciting $1500 limit holdem event right now. Started with 25k, have 24k.
I don't know anyone at the table, and I'm probably 3rd youngest, which is probably good.
Open folded A5 suited and 22 already. Tight!

Off to an irritating start. Raised button AQs, aggro young guy in BB 3-bets, I 4-bet, he calls. Flop QJ5 2 diamonds. He check raises me. He fires whole way, diamond hits river, he shows K4dd. Ugh. Down to 22k.
At least this happened early.

Back to starting stack after rivering a 4 (my favorite set), while holding 4s4d on Q73ddd flop and 6c turn. Beat black KQ who played it nonstandard.

Flatted 56hh on the button like a fish, versus aggressive raiser & another caller, flop 5d6d2h. Two opponents called raised flop, they both check/called As turn, Qd river didn't make me happy, but I won, as both had 87 no diamonds. Up to 27k.
Thyprez would be proud.

"Woodrow" (Matt Woodward) showed up at the table, and I didn't realize it was him at first because his hair was long. Only realized it when he beat me in a hand. I have 34k #pfa13

JJ in SB, 3-bet a button raise. Flop 743, I bet, he called. 4 turn. I bet, he raised, considered 3-bet, just called. River 8. Check/call. He showed down K7. Up to 42k. #pfa13

Had 77 versus limper. Flop 568. 3/J rolls off next, I lose to K8o. I have 40k
Playing 600-1200. Bad tension headache I woke up with is getting worse, but this is a chronic problem. Not sick. Still annoying.

New problem for 2022: I absolutely cannot win hands from level 7 going forward on Day 1. Third event in a row where this is happening. I have 20700 at the moment. #pfa13

Guy with a shortstack raises blind UTG. I 3-bet with Q9ss. Flop Th6s3h. He blind bets, I call. Turn 2s. I put him all in for his final 2800. He happens to have had aces, swears on his kids he really was raising blind. I think he was. I miss river. Down to 14k. #pfa13

Upon further discussion, others said the guy really did raise blind but peeked before the flop. Hand would've played out the same though. #pfa13

Crippled down to 1600. Got it in pre late position with K7o against blinds. Was ahead of Q9 and Q7 on JTT3 board until Q spiked river. Bye bye. Survived about 30% of field. #pfa13
So, Michael Moncek won this tournament and is quoted by Pokernews as saying ""It feels awesome, especially in a game that I've never played before," he said following his win. "I'm going to have to learn to play it now.""
