I see that you frequently lurk here, and in fact comment on some of the users and posts here on another site.

You recently stated that you aren't registering an account here because I would ban you within five days.

While I can't predict the future, I don't think that would happen.

I know that we didn't always get along in the past, but I have to personally take fault for that.

It pretty much all started on NWP, when I accused you of not really living in the wealthy community of Coronado.

That was wrong of me, and I am man enough to admit it.

This is the internet. You have the right to pretend to live anywhere you want. It was not my place to level such accusations.

I can assure you that, despite my past behavior as a mod on NWP, I am doing things differently on PFA.

If a full-time student around 30 years old wants to say he lives in one of the 20 most expensive cities in the United States, I promise not to question it.

This is part of the mission statement of the new kinder, gentler forum I am running here.

I will say Rummy was always the most inviting on Skatz and always was there to help me get my avatars fixed or whatever. Whenever Tine would mess with me he was always supportive in straightening things out.

Glad to see Druff taking the high road here, it's so petty and childish to maintain silly fueds IMO, especially when time goes by and both parties have largely moved on.

I like the guy a lot, hope things work out for the betterment of both sites and their patrons.

You never admin'd a site before? There is a panel that lists all of the IP addresses of every connection to the server and the current activity of that IP address.

Presumably Druff cross referenced the times from a few posts on skates poker that corresponded to a specific recurring IP on his admin log viewing the threads Rummy talked about on skates.

It's not terribly difficult, if a bit more work than I think is really worth it, but that's Druff's thing not mine.

Also why were you remarking "jesus christ..." regarding the statement that I have been on the internet for 25 years? I would actually expect that you would have been on the internet for about the same length of time.

In reality, I've been on the internet for about 22 years, and online in some way for about 26 1/2 years, but who's counting?

I did legitimately suspect at first that he didn't really live there, because he said he was a law student or something, and it just didn't make sense to me how he could afford it (short of living in sonatine's tent on the beach).

However, after we went back and forth with it a bit, I thought it was likely he probably did live there, and that his IP just showed his location incorrectly.

I actually don't think Rum Dick is a bad guy, and I wasn't kidding when I invited him to register an account here.

Pretty sure Ive seen you espouse the virtues of IP geolocation on a variety of occasions dawg. Pretty.. pretty sure... Example being the Nado Dave location debacle, that was all based on him having an IP that didnt jibe with his assertion that he lived in Coronado.. am I totally missing something or wasnt that the point of that whole confrontation?

Btw having been tasked with 'fixing' out of date information in those databases (pro tip: its impossible because the third parties who maintain them give not a fuck and mostly dont even speak english), its a profound sore point.

I got online in 94 and got heavy into digital warfare by 96.. but honestly tenure means fuckall at this point in the game. 16 year old Chinese kids on government issued speed know more about recreationally violating ring 0 memory than I ever will. The jesus christ comment is simply my way of conveying that reality; if Im interviewing someone and they start harping on when they logged in first, Im not hiring them 99 times out of 100. Its a tremendous red flag; I dont want to deal with egos and bad habits.

Bottom line is when you are discussing poker strat and all things culturally affiliated, Im genuinely interested and recognize Im in the presence of a legit source of truth. When you start portraying yourself as an authority on contemporary IT issues be it security or malware or whatever, which you are guilty of, and then often predicate opinions on work you did for a few weeks or months back in the early 90s, which you are guilty of, my countdown to emotional passive aggressive criticality begins in earnest.
