There has been a big exodus away from big cities in recent years, due to their mismanagement. Others have moved from the suburbs to the country or small towns, which I presume was your move.
I personally don't like being too far from a metro area, but I can understand the appeal of it. I have friends who have moved to fairly isolated small towns, and are happy there.

If you aren’t up for the hassle of rental properties a hobby farm is a great way to participate in the asset of land. All kinds of tax advantages. The correct asset for our times all exempt and shit.
On a larger scale Bezos has run the same scam. All kinds of wealthy people who have cashed out or sold their business at these heights have done the same thing.

I once worked for a guy who had a “farm”. Farm plates on Mercedes and all kinds of humorous shite. He worked every angle.
His kids said “haying” was the hardest thing they ever had to do.

I hauled hay as a teenager for a buck an hour. They didn't have the huge bales then that they have today that are handled with a tractor. The hard thing about hauling hay was the bales were always being tossed upwards. You throw them up on the wagon then you throw them up to the top of the barn.

Congratulations on this. It is great living in the country but not always convenient. Being independent minded makes country life much easier.
If any way possible, grow a garden. A garden is LOTS of work but with Joe Biden and the Easter Bunny running America, it could be your only food source in a few months.
