My impression is that Musk used this offer as an excuse to sell Tesla stock at its overhyped price.

It doesn't matter how many bots Twitter has. Which is probably somewhere between 40% to 50%.

It is not strong enough of an argument to abandon the deal. Any judge is going to force Elon to complete the buyout of Twitter.

Pretty sure the SEC will see it otherwise. Oddly enough they’ll be on Musks side on this one. Twitter literally lied on there disclosure forms both in public filings as well as claims made in the sales filings. That’s a no no. It also legit degrades the value of the true number of real accounts is significantly less especially for a social media platform.

While this guy will be vulnerable to being attacked as biased, here is an independent claim that Twitter was both undercounting bots and suppressing the true information in order to protect valuation.

* hes deliberately parroting pro-russian propaganda to provoke the justice department into nulling the deal on natsec grounds
* hes threatened to lay off 75% of twitters staff the second he signs the papers
* now hes threatened to move twitter HQ to either florida or texas
* the risk assessors at the banks who underwrote this deal are starting to get very nervous because because this is possibly literally the worst debt they could carry

i kinda get it tho, like hes a legit textbook chaotic narcissist and he thinks hes an organized narcissist like steve jobs. very different animals, very different appetites for risk/ruin.

musk will succeed because his actual goal is to send robots to mars to build a city / colonize it in his name. and i genuinely think he will pull it off, he has the resources. his assets are protected. even if the bank calls in their marker because tesla gets sued into oblivion, they probably cant touch the lions share of his resources. plus spacex is so cozy with the us gov that it would be insulated against margin calls for, again, natsec reasons.

but everything but spacex is a distraction for him, something to let off steam with. twitter, tesla, the endless supply of children, its all vanity. its how billionaire chaotic narcissists have fun.
