Help should i pay

Hey guys first time posting but have a problem
Playing in a tournament have sold 40 % of myself
I do this a fair bit ... so im currently playing day 2 ... and just hit the money but the money for staking hasnt hit my account and 2 of them are silent.. they arent poker people but ive asked say 10 times yesterday and a few times today of i can have money before start of days play ... i posted online i was close to money but now stopped ... sooo... wtf do I do ... is it fair ... they are friends but not close friends ... help

No don't pay. The money wasn't there so you don't owe them anything.

A promise to stake someone implies that the entry fee will be forwarded before the tournament begins, unless there was an agreement to the contrary or this was standard practice in the past. The stakers breached the contract by failing to do so. You owe them nothing. Here’s an idea: swallow your pride, move down a level, build up your bankroll, instead of selling 40% of yourself to play in tournaments you can’t afford.

Thanks Guys Unfortunately we have limited tournaments in Australia . 1 casino per state ... and 1 poker room there are a few un regulated ones around so I am limited in what we can play...
The people that usually back me the 3 1 of them I have decided to pay out
The other one , Newbie I still havent heard from so I am keeping that portion

Did these guys explain why they didn't respond to you before paying?

Have they ever paid late before?

How many times have they previously backed you?

I actually agree that you should pay someone who routinely backs you, and for whatever reason was unreachable for this last one. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt there. However, short of that, none of these guys should get paid.

As you probably know, I have sold pieces of my WSOP events for many years. My policy is that nobody owns a piece unless they have paid before the event starts. However, in the case where I am holding a piece for a person I trust and they aren't paying, I do get a hold of them and ask if they still want it, and explain that I need the money by X date or I have to cancel their piece. For most people I won't "hold" pieces because situations like these arise.

If it's someone I super-trust, such as a relative or a very longtime friend, I would forgive something like this and pay them, assuming they would have also paid me if I were to bust before the money.
