Where we differ - Russia needs access to seaports for energy distribution. You get distracted by a lot of noise. It’s always energy. Always.
Walk with me for a moment….. If Russia won Ukraine (just saying) would Poland and Romania be next? Access to the sea again - especially Poland. That would just necessitate full blown US involvement so the US is critically involved in Ukraine to prevent a disastrous world war. I can’t give you odds of Poland and Romania being the next dominos but neither can the US. That scenario can’t come to pass.
I have zero faith in our diplomacy (there is none) and our military efficiency. We can drag shit out like no one. Perhaps dragging Ukraine out is the only play for us. If Russia looks like they are gonna lose Ukraine & lose face …. AND LOSE THERE ABILITY TO DISTRIBUTE THEIR ONLY ECONOMIC VIABILITY (oil) - they may threaten nukes. Better to just grind Ukraine out endlessly and wait and see. It’s what we have done since the 60’s. We don’t usually win but we have staying power.

Imo Putin's in this war because he's been targeted for regime change and/or the total destruction of Russia. His support for Iran and Syria is causing delays in the master plan. As far as energy goes, yea they're trying to make the best of this unfortunate situation and the NATO side would like to keep the lights on in Europe but it's certainly not a requirement. They're not going to alter their plans for that.
If America was fighting for American interest then keeping this conflict from activating article 5 of NATO would be indeed be the number 1 priority.
Since that's not the case, if NATO has to be used so be it, heck it may be the true goal. There's all kinds of NATO leaders saying
if a nuclear plant suffers any major damage that impacts any NATO members then that will trigger article 5.
Basically, they're telling Zelensky that if you want NATO to come into this you need to pull a false flag on a nuke plant. The entire western media will
be ready and waiting to blame Russia.

zero chance russia makes a run on either poland or romania, both are eu / nato members so ww3 is guaranteed if this happens, nobody actually wants this but both side are happy to get as close to the line as they think is possible
