This mess did not have to be. For whatever reason the Biden administration would rather have what is unfolding in Europe & the effects of it on the American economy as opposed to keeping open the option of NATO being allowed to add Ukraine at a later point.
NATO's eastward expansion is at the heart of this whole problem. When Donald Trump said NATO was obsolete he was only partially right. NATO is now dangerous, not just to Russia but now to the entire world. We are now risking a major engagement with Russia & possibly China over nothing more important than NATO's "sovereignty".
People are willing to risk WWIII over this bullshit?????

As I type this, a full scale invasion of Ukraine has begun.
Yes, this is real and its happening. This is not a "peace keeping mission" in a disputed corner of Ukraine, this is a full scale invasion of the entire country.
The capital of Ukraine has just come under attack a short time ago. So far, it was reportedly the airport, but all of this will obviously change quickly.
Id like to keep this thread as limited as possible to news and news sources, instead of a ton of low effort posts.
I will start it off with a guys channel that broadcasts live updates from credible sources. He seems to be pretty up on what is going on. I will have more sources for info soon.

Yeah but IMO, Putin was going to invade Ukraine no matter who was going to be the current US president. He has been working towards this for quite a while - not just during Bidens term. I believe his goal is to more or less take back (at least some) land that was formerly the USSR. Ive been listening to some of his speeches.
He is using the fact that since NATO expanded after the USSR fell, despite the agreements that NATO wouldn't expand in his direction, as a motive to do what he is doing.
This won't stop with Ukraine IMO. I really hope the hell im dead wrong, but I think this is just the beginning. It might take a while after Ukraine for him to make his next moves, but I think its only a matter of when.
