When he was president Trump told NATO countries they must get their defense spending up to 2% of GDP like they had promised. Democrats and MSM castigated him for (disrespecting our NATO allies). Idiots. (This was another of many anti-Putin moves by Trump that the left will not acknowledge).

So now we are into 2022 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine seems to have woken up the NATO countries. Who would have thunk that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would announce a 100 million euro increase in defense spending. In addition the Germans are sending hundreds of anti-tank weapons and stinger missiles to Ukraine. The Germans have also stopped the nord stream 2 pipeline. And Scholz has switched his position on blocking Russia from the SWIFT banking system.

That means there will be no way for Germany to pay for Russian natural gas. That means the flow will stop. Germany is positioning itself to get totally off the Russian tit for its energy needs. They are preparing to continue with nuclear power and even coal power.

I didn't think Germany was capable of it. Biden needs to take a lesson from them and stop the importation of Russian oil. It represents only about 7% of oil consumed in the U.S.

I buy about 250 gallons of gas a month average. I'm willing to pay the extra so my money doesn't go to Russia.
