    WSOP 2022 Schedule finally posted

It was teased since late December, but finally showed up today.

Runs from May 31st through July 20th. Tournament of Champions is BACK. Sadly it didn't exist the one year I was a champion, having been eliminated after 2004. I think it came back at some point, and then vanished again, but now it's returned. It's the final event.

But for the rest of us who probably won't win a 2022 bracelet or ring, here's the full schedule:

    https://www.wsop.com/tournaments/

    Things of note:

    - There's a new "Housewarming $500 NL" event at the beginning of the series, with a $5M guarantee. I'm sure it will be a zoo. I won't be playing. This is similar to other massive field, $500-ish buyin events they've had over the years.

    - The idiotic Flip-N-Go thing is BACk. Disappointing. I won't be playing.

    - They finally wised up and put a bunch of the limit stuff together near the beginning. Never understood why they were scattered, which makes it tough for non-locals to play them al. However, HORSE and a few other limit events are still in the middle and later series.

    - It's largely similar overall to the last 2 years combined. Honestly not a lot of innovation this year.

    - Sadly, not many straight $1000/$1500 full ring NL freezouts this year

    - Limit Holdem $3k and Limit Holdem $10k are back-to-back days. Dumb. This will kill the field of the latter.

On a personal note, this is the first year I can play the Seniors, but it's very inconveniently placed on the schedule for me. So not sure what I'll do.

As the WSOP is a huge pool of COVID transmission, I will also have to see where everything stands with that before deciding to play. Last year, I elected only to play the Main, and only after I had been boosted. However, at the moment, there is no mask or vax requirement for the WSOP, which is delighting a lot of the anti-vax types. I think this is the correct decision, by the way.

Here's my interest list. I may or may not play the following events, depending upon various factors (family obligations, COVID, health, what I feel like doing, etc):

    6/4 3pm: Event #9 $1500 7-Stud
    6/6 3pm: Event #13 $1500 Limit Holdem
    6/9 11am: Event #18 $1000 NL Holdem
    6/11 3pm: Event #23 $3000 6-handed Limit Holdem
    6/12 3pm: Event #26 $10k Limit Holdem
    6/15 11am: Event #32 $1500 HORSE
    6/16 3pm: Event #36 $1500 7-Stud Hi-Lo
    6/17-18 10am: Event #37 $1500 Millionaire Maker NL Holdem
    6/23 10am: Event #47 $1000 Seniors NL
    6/27 3pm: Event #27 $1500 PLO8
    7/5 11am: Event #70C $10k NL Main Event

Schedule looks to me as pretty much the same with a change here or there. Nothing really impressive for me at least. In recent years it's become a shit show with poor dealers and chaos. And high profile people like Hellmuth being able to get away with abuse after abuse and nothing happens while the avg player gets threatened with being 86'd if they dare utter a single curse word.

Well, this is likely the year that I get to play in my very first bracelet event. Honestly, I could never afford to fly out, stay in a hotel, and pay 1-2K for a buy-in until relatively recently. I don't know the exact dates, but I am planning on being out there for a week in June. Most of you guys take these events for granted, but I haven't played in a live tournament since just before 9/11. That was a small buy-in tournament at the Fort McDowell casino, in Phoenix.

Anyway, I am very excited about playing for a bracelet. It will either be a 1k, or 1.5k event. I hope to see some of you guys out there. I know time will be tight for everybody, but I would love make another 9:45 PM reservation at Prime Steak House, and treat that one cheap guy.

I booked at room at the Linq for six nights starting 6/2. It’s by far the cheapest Caesars property right now (excluding the Rio). It’s not that far a walk or I can take the monorail if I time it right. I’m Diamond plus and it’s $775 total. I could jump around and get a little better deal, but don’t like to move hotels.

Linq is kind of a shithole, so be aware of that.

Also, keep checking BACK for price changes (in your favor), and re-rate it. They tend to jump around a lot.

Of course I’ll check back later. The Linq is definitely the nut low of the Caesar’s strip properties, but I plan to final table the O/8 high low and the limit hold’em event, so I won’t be in the room much.

It's going to be a clusterfuck.

The days that "superstar" players like Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu rented out RV's and kept them on casino property for a month & a half are over. I can't wait to see Bally's security slap the fuck out of Negreanu when he tries to fall asleep.

Bally's security & staff like to fuck with people.

This is going to be beyond a bad experience.

If you wanted to be a part of a good experience at the WSOP you needed to play downtown at Binion's Horseshoe or at the Rio. Bally's does NOT impress me.

If Daniel wins anything this year, that beard has to go.

Hi country978 and YUUP, I am just now seeing your comments (btw, how does one leave a comment like that?). Anyway, I appreciate the kind words. I will be playing event # 34, the $1500 NL Hold 'Em freezeout. If I have my PFA hat by then, I'll definitely wear it during the tournament. I already have my reservation booked at Prime Steak house, really looking forward to that. Good luck to all PFA players at the series this year!

Online Veteran, do you plan to live tweet chips in the event? I can make a thread for it if you want.

I am an unknown with 0 twitter followers, so I never really thought about it. However, it does sound like fun. To answer your question, yes, I'll live tweet my chip count during the event. My Twitter name is "NetPokerVet."
