“(The Toe Captain) holds the toe in his hand and says, 'You can drink it fast, you can drink it slow, but your lips must touch this gnarly toe,' " Schutte recalls. "He waives it in front of your nose as well, and then he just drops it in your drink and you just do the shot."

In the 70's and 80's I was up and down the Alaska Highway 11 times. I heard about the Sourtoe Cocktail at the Sourdough Saloon in Dawson City back then. I always wanted to visit Dawson City but its a long long ways out of the way when driving to or from Alaska and the roads were very bad then. So never made it.

Definitely on our list to do in the future when Canada opens back up. Looks like there are seasonal flights in from Fairbanks on some regional airlines.

Town is small but has a few things to do. And it will make a great story.
