I thought Todd made some good points on this week’s PFA Radio about WPT losing some luster in more recent times. I’d say one factor is they seem to just have the same select stops all the time. To play a WPT event is a decent travel commitment for most involved. And some are not the most appealing destinations at the times of year they are held. No doubt getting on the Sexton Cup is a huge deal but seems to mean less now.

WSOP caters geographically better with its circuit events and price points. They may not have televised final tables and as much fanfare, but they keep their attendees pretty glued in. Gets the juices flowing to go out for the bracelet events also, which cater to many different types of players.

Anyone else have thoughts? Wonder how those who travel for WPT and WSOP feel.
