The reason I don't join sites like these -- aside from the issue with them possibily selling my data to the highest bidder -- is the fact that it's an echo chamber. I'm not really into that, at least as far as social media is concerned. I'm a member of some conservative Facebook groups, but I don't spend a lot of time on them.
