Fedor Holz makes allegation of online poker collusion against Brazilian poker group

In case you still don't understand (it's not super clear from the pic or Fedor's tweets), at a 4-handed final table one of the Brazilians, open-min-raised (2 BB) with AJo, another Brazilian went all-in for 7.1 BB from the button, and the first Brazilian folded. The first Brazilian had to only call another 5.1 BB into a heads up pot which was already 5.5 BB. If he calls and wins, it's 3 handed and he has an even bigger chiplead. If he calls and loses, he's still 2nd in chips. Obviously this was a very bad fold.

Patrick "Mobius" Howard, who apparently coaches these Brazilians, took offense, and posted this response:

This didn't go over very well with the poker community.

    Among other things:

    - He needled Ryan Leng (a nice guy who has a lot of respect from poker peers) when Leng had nothing to do with any of this

    - He threatened a defamation suit (can screen names from Brazil sue for defamation?)

    - He played the "racism" card

    - His explanation sucked

And while I've had plenty of criticism for Scott Seiver in recent years (just his personality, nothing scam-related), I have to admit I've warmed up to the guy a lot in the past year.

My analysis isn't too different from the tweets I showed you by other poker pros.

This fold is highly suspicious. It's hard to imagine a good player doing this at a final table 4-handed, given the stack sizes involved.

Patrick Howard made a fool of himself in his explanation, including all the outrage and laughable legal threat. Patrick Leonard also brought up a good point that it's bizarre that this Brazilian group would have hired Howard as a coach for percentage won, given that they are already successful high stakes players, and super-prolific.

I'm not sure what Howard's role is in this whole thing (aside from being a "coach" to these Brazilians), but the whole thing doesn't smell right.

Patrick Howard's tweets triggered my spidey senses as well.
