Apparently they just needed a new manager.

Might be a good betting spot while they are undervalued.

Ten Kansas City Royals players, including four of their top hitters and two of their best starting pitchers this season, will not travel to Toronto this week for the four-game series with the Blue Jays because they have not received the COVID-19 vaccination.

    Home field advantage....

    LOL Canada

How can they still have a vax requirement at this point? Especially given that the requirement involves 2 shots, which wore off a long time ago. Insane.

The Dodgers have been coming back from huge deficits lately. They did it again last night, bouncing back from a 6-0 deficit to win 7-6. The almost did it the night before, bouncing back from 6-1 but falling a bit short, ultimately losing 7-6. Both were against the Cardinals.

They also had two large comebacks against the Cubs, including a game where they were down five runs TWICE.

Dodgers are 12-2 in their last 14. However, they started out behind in 10 of those 14 games, coming back to win 8 times.

They should soon start thinking about load management, as they lead the inconsistent Padres by 8.5, and the back-down-to-earth Giants by 12.

LOL US. They have the same requirements for non citizens.

So if I'm a Canadian playing on the Jays (or a hockey team or whatever) I can not cross unless I say I have been double vaccinated.

I didn't know that. Also very stupid.

Vax requirements (especially ones involving 2 shots) are just performative at this point.

    @Simpdog

Sonatine was asking if Jays smoke pregame

Berrios will get 11k (+1455) though and likely lose

Embarrassing they didn’t sweep the Royals farm team.

Going to be a sprint to the finish in the AL East (other than top spot)

Seven players, some of whom aren't well known (from a long time ago) were elected to the HOF today.

David Ortiz is the most high profile election. He almost certainly used roids at the end of his career, and baseball looked the other way, but he otherwise deserved it.

Jim Kaat was elected, as well.

Gil Hodges, who played almost his entire career for the Brooklyn Dodgers, was elected over 50 years after his premature death. He died of a heart attack at age 47, just one day before the 1972 season. He was managing the Mets at the time, and Yogi Berra had to abruptly replace him.

My Braves are playing well but something is missing. Acuna isn't up to speed yet and Rosario is coming back from eye surgery now Duvall had season ending surgery. Hopefully AA in the front office will work his magic again at the trade deadline. Going to watch the Mets and Yankees tonight.

It’s a far cry from the Chavez Ravine beatings.

We lifted the restriction on Jays a while ago. White hot. @simpdog

Yeah his stuff has looked good thus far. Would be wonderful if he settles into the 8th inning set up man as Clase has been untouchable. Funny, a buddy of mine and I were talking about how intense he still looks and pondering if a calm Karinchak ever emerges, and whether we’d want him to.

Obviously a calm temperament lends itself to high pressure relief pitching, but we aren’t sure a calm Karinchak is even possible or desirable. He seems most insane when he’s really on. It’s his preferable temperament, which seems counter-intuitive with a relief pitcher but we’ll live with it given his stuff.

My son and Karinchak were room mates at one point. Karinchak is a nice kid but a complete spazz. Might be on the spectrum. He’s never gonna change.

    Necessary tool for relief.
