I'm thinking the chapter on "Negotiating with pimply-faced fast food managers" can go somewhere in between the Chapters on Hotels and Car Rentals. Airlines and travel should probably be Chapter 1 to hook the viewers in. "Off the side food substitutions" at your favorite local restaurant is probably a mid-way point for the class.

I actually responded to Allen's tweet.

Believe it or not, this was beyond even my abilities. I told Allen simply to give up and go to a different location from now on.

Why? Because this is highly likely to be a franchised BK unit, and if the owner of a franchised store of a low-end chain is shitty, then your experience is going to be shitty, and you have little-to-no recourse.

BK corporate doesn't care about complaints about its franchised units unless it's something major. So if the manager spits in your burger in front of your face after you complain, then you might have a shot at getting corporate involved. If it's simply a matter of incompetent employees, frequently wrong food, slow service, rude employees, etc, then corporate isn't going to give a shit.

The solution is simply to go to a different location, or to frequent a burger place which doesn't franchise (Tommy's and In-N-Out are two examples in the west, with the latter being very customer-focused).
