So far, Kelly did not elaborate further.

So far, Kelly did not elaborate further.
My commentary:
1) Her refusal to elaborate is odd, given that she wasn't named in the tweet (she named herself), and she feels the story was told incorrectly.
2) The point from which she left the table is important. If she left long before others took their seat at the table, then it's no big deal, as she couldn't be doing this for strategic reasons. If she did this after others were already there, that could be an ethical problem.
Okay, I guess she did explain, just not in that tweet, nor did she mention that she had already explained in a different tweet thread. Weird.
Anyway, here it is:

I'll start out by saying I believe her story.
Do I think this is a good enough reason to be allowed to unregister/reregister?
No.
I think she should have been allowed to unregister, as this is in fact allowed one time per series for anyone for any reason. However, re-registering should never be allowed unless no other players have been seated at the table yet (MAYBE if 1 other is seated). This is especially true in a 6-max event, where 3 people at the table (including her) comprises half the table.
If she was concerned about this individual harassing her during the event, she could have simply gone to the floor and asked them to look out for her, and then immediately called them over if the dude started with her. Or she could just unregister completely.
This really smacks of big time of favortism, which is common at the WSOP for known pros. On the plus side, I don't feel she did this to cheat or gain any edge.

This really has the "unregistered and regretted having done so" energy to it.
I'm guessing she probably felt stupid for letting some dude's presence scare her out of the event, so she quietly went back and reregistered, hoping nobody would notice. Then people did, and now it looks really bad.
It's possible that WSOP doesn't have the proper code in the computer system to prevent this, and she got away with it, even though you're not supposed to re-register after something like this (at least not without explicit permission). Maybe it wasn't favortism, after all.
Well, she claims she didn't know you couldn't do this, which might be true.
Looks like WSOP staff was just stupid here.

Also I may or may not have drawn Jeffrey Brett Muncy into the thread.

Lol. She probably owed the dude money. She should be able to unregister, but not re-register, in my opinion. There were a couple of mid limit Commerce angle shooting types (ie, loud, obnoxious, Middle Eastern) at my limit hold’em table that I’d have preferred not to play with either, but them’s the breaks.
on a side note the fact that a dealer didn't know a player couldn't just hand over his stack to another player wasn't within the rules is beyond me.. at least the floor fixed that situation and just forfeited the chips in play but JFC how can a dealer think that was ok is beyond me. (didn't mean to derail but just another example of the fail that's occurred the first full week of the WSOP 2021)

One other thing I just thought of...
If you're a pretty girl in poker (especially one who is fairly known like Kelly Minkin), and a dude is harassing you at the event, all you have to do is speak up and you'll have 8 guys at the table jumping to your defense.
Zero point zero chance that this guy could get away with harassing her if she expressed fear while at the table, even if the floor didn't get involved (which of course they would).
Now, of course it's her right to unregister if she just doesn't feel comfortable in the guy's presence, but keep in mind he was at the NEXT table, not her table, and he hadn't yet bothered her.
I just don't like that there was even a discussion regarding letting her re-register. It does seem from this convoluted story that she was eventually given permission, but the WSOP simply shouldn't have allowed it.
I would have love to have gotten a table change a few years ago at the $10k Limit Holdem event when there were 6 other liimt poker bracelet winners at my starting table, but obvioulsy I couldn't. I know Kelly wasn't likely angling here, but this is a really bad precedent and needs to be stopped.

Pretty outrageous he got shit for this. He did nothing wrong at all.
Im honestly surprised Minkin didnt just let her fiancee/baby daddy deal with this clown.. Dude looks like a bad ass from what I saw on her instagram.. Also didnt know she was pregnant and had already had a kid recently.. Apparently shes living here in Paradise Valley between Snobsdale/scottsdale and Phoenix....
Truthfully shes not the cute little poker chick she used to be anymore we used to see on TV
