Is Matusow too broke to play $25K H.O.R.S.E.?

Not too many people were buying his action on YouStake. That combined with constantly being in debt and never paying people back makes you wonder how many events he can get in to this year.

Phil more likely to stake him in lower than that I guess, though.

He will find plenty of backers at any limit event, and if he doesn't, I'm sure Hellmuth will kick in the money.

Matusow has proven over the years to be good at WSOP limit tournaments.

Mike Matusow is a broke dick.

It may be a long time before Mike has enough money to afford a high quality hooker.

Doug Polk could then introduce Mike to his former girlfriend who is now a pornstar.

    Surprised he's still alive.

Don't even know if he was ever huge into drugs/booze but just seemed like a manic depressive train wreck always on the brink.

Still getting stakes for $25k's is a great outcome.

Sitting 5th in chips after Day 1.

Norman Chad is playing, and survived to Day 2. I think he's trying to raise money for charity.

Lon: Norman Chad has made it to day 2 of the tournament….which was longer than a couple wives made it through the marriage.

    Norman: Good for you.

Is Micon playing in it? I think he said on Polk’s show that he was planning to.

I used to occasionally play 20-40 EO with Norman Chad at Hollywood Park 15 years ago. He was a regular fixture in those games back then. For all I know he still is. My read on him was solid ABC player.

As a side note, my understanding is the EO game at HP is pretty much dead. My understanding is that although HP as a whole is having somewhat of a renaissance with the new stadium next door, the EO players have a heavy west side Jew presence. And as a group they are generally neurotic about getting Coronavirus and are still avoiding going to casinos, even though they have all gotten 2-3 vaccine shots.

    So is David Benjamine. LOL.

Can Erick Lindgren afford to play in a $500 buy-in?

I like Phil Hellmuth in poker maybe also because so many people try and tarnish him, but all he does is keep wining (lol..)

Consistent, so the haters gonna hate of course but from a lol person and perspective person overall in poker, he's a fun one. And he has also lasted the test of time, which is hard to do in poker for decades

    gg imo

That's the problem with these limit tournaments. Blinds go up, you run bad, you're out.

Negreanu and Cary Katz squeezed out min cashes (which are $42k, for a $17k profit). Obv the money doesn't mean anything to Katz.

Benny Glaser leads the final table, but Hellmuth is there, as is Benyamine, as is PFA Radio listener Matt Glantz.

Rooting for Matt here and I sent him a text of encouragement just now. Would be a huge win for him, as this is a highly respected bracelet. Unfortunately Matt is one of the short stacks, but anything can happen.

I had it planned to play the $1500 version of this event, but since I'll be sitting out at least the first half of WSOP, that won't be happening.

I actually don’t mind running bad early in a limit tournament. No matter what your stack, you have to go on a rush in the middle of the tournament to get deep. Many times that rush comes too early, then you get card dead!

Let's be clear - Matusow has not stood the test of time. He's went broke 9 times (according to him)
He scammed Negreanu out of 150K 5-6 years - when DNegs didn't want to loan to him - he mentioned he had equity in his house and DNegs made him sign a promissory note at 5% interest

Then Matusow sold house (moved in to apartment) and still has paid 0.0

    Source : Mike Matusow

There's a reason Mike is not in the HOF

Anyhow, I do think he can still win in tournaments and possibly even cash games. The question is whether he will chunk it off in sports betting (He is always quitting or not betting as much as he used to - classic loser stuff)

I hope he wins and pays his debts and gets $2 million cash like he wants, his history and actions don't support that though. I hope he proves me wrong because he is old, in bad shape, and COVID has ravaged him a couple times.

Sadly Mr. Glantz busted first at the final table. He came in 2nd shortest stack, so he had to get lucky, and didn't.

Hellmuth still in, not a big stack but hanging around.

He must have just busted. Saw him outside 5 minutes ago. VIP registration has 5 windows open now. Less than ten minute wait. Guess some 7 Stars members threw a shit fit after last night’s fiasco.
