I'm guessing that in most cases a sick child is the product of sick parents.

Just my take, no numbers to support this. As I said if I knew my offspring was really mentally in-stable I might toss them over but if it was a one time act of passion and the receiving party was known scum I would protect my own.

Lots of extreme variables would have to line up
