Call Center Scammer Boss Spotted at Atlantic City Casino

Was in AC this weekend for Guns N’ Roses show and spotted an odd character at the Baccarat table. He was placing fairly large bets of 2k- 4K at a $50 minimum table, but sitting by himself. Now at this particular casino, it is very Rare that a $50 Baccarat table is nearly empty and it was not reserved due to it being on the main floor.

So I sat down thinking nothing of it and the guy there kept to himself for the next few hands as did I. He then tossed his player card to the host and I saw the name on it was Amit Chauhan. I thought that name sounds familiar and quickly realized, this is the same guy that is the head of a Scam Call Center in India that has made Millions off Victims all over the world. It was so bad that the BBC did a feature on him and the man who ultimately busted the guy, a pretty well known Scam Baiter named Jim Browning. Here is the BBC video on it and also Jim Browning’s origins footage that spawned the BBC story.

    BBC doc.

    Browning’s amazing work!

I know Druff likes to mess with Nigerian scammers and the thought crossed my mind to mess with the guy and ask him how prison was or why does he like scamming people and then chunking it off at a Casino? But he clearly has money and connections to some shady characters to be out of prison so fast. Plus filming him would probably get me unwanted attention from him or casino security. It was kind of a surreal moment, like coming face to face with a criminal. And he looked like hell after doing time, he was pudgy and his hair was thinning, hopefully from the stress of being jailed and hated so much.

Since calling authorities overseas or in the US would do nothing, I just watched him lose over 5 grand and walk away. Any thoughts on what I could have done differently or was I pretty much right to do and say nothing?

Post note to PV: The Indian police are Super corrupt, so he definitely paid them off for early release. Had the BBC not aired the piece, the police probably would have not even bothered arresting him. It’s all politics and money can do amazing things in 3rd world countries!

PositiveVariance: Surprised this guy isn’t still in prison. He scammed a shitload of money? And what’s with scammers and the game of Baccarat? Lol

Should have asked him if he is interested in extending his car warranty

    *Update*

I did see the guy in AC again yesterday but he was not playing, ironically enough he was speaking to a security guard in his native language of Hindi!

He definitely noticed me as I walked away from the cage with $1250 and when I looked back to confirm it was him, he was still staring at me. So I pocketed my money and kept walking.

At that point, my bus home was coming in and I didn’t see the need to waste time or risk anonymity by filming him. Plus he could probably ask the security guard to find out who I was. Not that he could because I didn’t use my player card at this particular casino, but I have in the past.

I’ve reached out to Jim Browning and Trilogy Media, who both do great work. But I think they’ve done all they can to stop this guy. They are going after the current scammers both foreign and domestic and in their latest videos they are taking down Money Mules in the USA. Quite riveting stuff if you have the time to watch!

To Boz: I think he still gets royalties off the Sam Raimi film that he supposedly wrote years before… ya know the one he has no proof of or even how film copyrights work!

The Boz: Wait? Dark Oz isn’t the only guy that rides the bus to AC? Hopefully you are averaging $20k a week in income like he is in AC.

So as I suspected, the police in Kolkata are in fact in on the scam and are taking bribes to look the other way. I know, a police station corrupted by money in a 3rd World country, shocker!

Heck, the footage they use in this video validating the sentiment has Amit Chauhan’s arrest footage in it!

Probably not a good sign, when the police are literally holding hands with the criminals!
