Earlier this week a jewelry store filed a 67k lawsuit against former Duke player Lance Thomas. According to the lawsuit Thomas put down 1/3 of a payment just over 30k for some major bling and was due to pay the balance of 67k 15 days later back in late 2009. The lawsuit hasn't been mentioned by the NCAA yet, but the implications are that it will definitely lead to an investigation of the Duke basketball team and how a college Sr at Duke on scholarship who's mom works in a Ford Motor plant could afford to put down 30k on bling let alone be given such credit even if it was only 15 days. The potential issue is that Duke could be forced to vacate its 2010 Title as it appears that Thomas received illegal benefits from the store at minimum but secondly still is the issue of where did the money come from to start with?
