    GG Poker quietly acquires PokerGo?

I will preface this by saying I have only one source. It is a GG employee not in the States. This source has only given me credible information in the past. I really hope he’s not fucking with me. I was told that GG Poker has recently acquired PokerGo. I asked why they would buy a company that was losing so much money? I was told that GG doesn’t give a shit about that right now.

GG has recently been pushing their Club GG. Which works somewhat like Club WPT (But is $50 a month instead of $20) but also can serve as one of these poker apps for real money in the States. You may have noticed a bunch of poker vloggers are now advertising to “come play with them on Club GG”.

Negreanu, who has said he had a piece of PokerGo in the past, has been talking about Club GG during his recent live streams. GG poker also allows players to sell pieces of themselves right on the site. They have the contract with the WSOP. Basically, GG is making a huge move to engulf the entire poker space.

A little while back PokerGo was getting a lot of shit for copyright striking everything. Druff covered it on the radio. In the last couple of weeks they have noticeably started to post more and more free content on YouTube.

I don’t see a peep of this shit anywhere. So if true, this was meant to be hush-hush for sure. Don’t know how it leaked to me. I didn’t even ask. Maybe I am being fucked with. I guess we shall see.

It is for sure trying to get their tentacles dug in even more in the States. Big part of the overall strategy is to eventually get licensing here. So buying PokerGo, even though it was hemorrhaging dough, gives them an even greater presence here. Can’t think they would of bought it if it wasn’t to serve the greater purpose.

    yup makes perfect sense...loss leader...

think they might have a shot...they should be able to be in the good graces of regulators here because they have never served the US market...just have to find a casino partner to offer their services....rivers, maybe?

Quick follow on this…if you watch the PokerGo stream of the WSOP you see GG Poker all over the place. Branded on the table and TV screens. I spoke again with my initial source and GG does own PokerGO, but it is one of these holding company or shell company deals. I don’t know much about all that, but you get the drift. GG is all over the place ever since I was told this and watching the stream just now reinforced it. On a day to day operational level nothing has really changed.

Just to drive this home…on my recommended videos today was a clip from Poker After Dark. However, when I went to see what YT channel it was on… it wasn’t on PokerGo but rather GG Poker. This has been a circumstantial case because it was not a standard merger/takeover. But I think it’s come close to having enough evidence to prove the guy who told me initially completely correct.
