Newsflash a lot of dealers are poker players themselves.. Again the WSOP has themselves a problem with this rule.. Based on their last ruling as it were the potential for vaxxed players to be booted due to a breakthrough infection from an unvaxxed dealer or staff is definitely there and odds are likely it will happen sometime.. The liability is going to be through the roof on this one I hate to tell them if a player is forced out because of symptomatic breakthrough due to infected staff is insane.

So I downloaded the CLEAR app this morning and created a Vaccine Passport on my phone, which is what is recommended to save time at the WSOP.

Facial recognition, digital (private) health information on my phone along with my cell number and email - maybe it's because I'm a little older but this is a bunch of bullshit nonsense. I'm thisclose to joining Team KrissyB24.
Yeah this is a bit bothersome and intrusive, and the excuse of, "Well you don't have to use it" is terrible because you know it's gonna be a 5-hour line to get verified if you don't use it. Because that's the WSOP way.
It's not WSOP if there's not a 5-hour line for something near the beginning of the series.
Where do the temporary/traveling dealers live during the tournament?
I can’t imagine Caesars offers some dorm situation but maybe they do. I have some vision of them living like cruise employees. Where do these guys find a place to stay? Those guys don’t stand a chance of not being exposed.
If I had kids and was married to on of these guys the front door would be locked for 2 weeks upon their return.
Yeah, definitely. This will change the WSOP a little bit. However if you want to attend the WSOP 2021 you must get the vaccine now, then get the second one about three weeks from now. Then about a week later, you should be good.
More old people will show up now.
Most of them have gotten the vaccine but they won't wear a fucking mask for 12 hours straight.
The younger kids don't really give a fuck about the virus. Most of them have gotten the vaccine but who really wants to wear a mask all day at the Rio?
Of course once you leave the convention space and go into the casino you must put your mask back on.

"Good evening everyone. The Orleans Poker Room will be hosting a hiring event for poker dealers on Tuesday September 14th from 1pm-4pm. We will be hiring dealers for our upcoming Fall Tournament Series that will run from October 1st through the middle of November.
We are very excited to announce that we will be guaranteeing a minimum down rate of $18/down for the duration of this series!!! We will also have cash game downs available to qualified dealers, as well as long-term employment positions for those wishing to stay aboard once the series has concluded. Scheduling will be as flexible as possible for those working a second job, and multiple shifts/days will be available.
Those interested, please come wearing black and whites, and report to Salon G in our second floor convention rooms. See you there!"
18$ a down + wages........at Orleans.
FYI you'd be a fool not to carry a mask to the table anyway, and put it on once you enter a pot (of course, don't do it until you've put chips in!)
Otherwise you're giving up a decent (allowed) edge regarding masking tells.
This is WSOP's "highly incentivized" dealer plan to get the vaccine.
$250/person who gets the shot between 9/3 & 11/4 (lol, when the series is nearly over) tough luck on the cash payment for dealers who became fully vaxxed prior to 9/3.
However, for those who got fully vaxxed prior to 9/3....and for those who got a shot between the above qualifying dates, will all be entered into a $25k total pool drawing, where the top prize is $5k.
This is not super appealing IMO.
I dealt the WSOP 1 year (2019) and did not enjoy it. The floors all have their favorites who get the lucrative spots, and new dealers, regardless of their skill, get the shaft unless they kiss a lot of ass.

After considering many factors I will NOT be going to this years WSOP. I am doubled vaxxed but on the off chance I still catch Covid I cant get back into Canada until I test positive. Not only will I not get paid from work I will have to pay for an extended stay trapped in a hotel room. Not going to take that chance.
Matusow claims that the reversal of the mask mandate was his doing.

I assume the meeting will be held on Zoom or some similar service?
In recent years the WSOP started on a Tuesday, so it makes some sense to do it virtually instead of expecting the road dealers to show up two days earlier than usual and have them deal with two days of added expenses for a ~2-hour meeting.
So are we believing that Matusow: talked with Ty Stewart for 3 hours AND that he waited 9 days to tweet that he alone got the mask mandate reversed?
TBH, 100%...I know a lil' about Road dealing ...
WE WERE in Town every year before WSOP on the eve of one of the Biggest weekends in Vegas ,MEMORIAL DAY weekend....
everything sold out...for years. YEARS. get in town before the SUNDAY meeting..... dealers slept on couches, vans, cars, hotel lobbies... Please K.M. we both been there the same amount of time perhaps I Bit longer...due to pre-2005... but come on bro...WSOP never gave a Iotas dang of thought to DEALERS EXPENSES.......please. I respect you to much for to long to get aboard that Rap brother.....
please DM druff, u know me by my nickname he tell you...and then you might agree a lil more. We say hello frequently, nod, acknowledge for mannnnnnyyy years....
I give u a hint : there was a day when "SEAT OPENNNNNNN" was heard in the Dice pit.
I Pray you wear a Mask if even if you vaccinated Kev. Matusow a lunatic to go to WSOP unmasked. in best of times.....
IMO, I know nothing about Science.
I know at least 100 dealers that can't turn a phone, comp on never mind find ZOOM to be brutally sincere.

The WSOP is ruining their reputation with incompetent decision after incompetent decision. I used to watch the WSOP on TV and this year I was going to play in it for the first time but not anymore. They have become way too political, their customer support is an abomination, and I have never been treated so terribly by any business like the WSOP has treated me. They don't care that I spent thousands of dollars in rake and played the highest cash games everyday. They act like they hate money and want as few people on their site as possible. Now with this vaccination mandate, it makes no sense to require players to have this and it is more of a political statement than anything. Unless they make all the players and staff live in a bubble during the series then the vaccine being mandatory makes no sense. Plus the vaccine doesn't mean you can't spread it or catch it so the whole thing is insanely stupid. It's the World Series of Poker and should open to all individuals who want to play to find out who the best poker players are. This isolates a lot of people that would normally have played and any bracelets won this year should come with an asterick. Druff should campaign to take over for the woman who is running it now. Getting someone who cares about poker would make a big difference I would think.
