Like em both, but Tool is better.

I think the lead singer Maynard is one of the more interesting people from the 90s music era.

Amongst his many surprising pursuits, he trains and is a fan of MMA too. Skip to 2:48 for hip toss/rear naked choke on random fan that jumps on stage.

I think the Perfect Circle song is a better. Found out about Tool watching Beavis and Butthead years ago. Bought a Tool CD and really enjoyed it. May have gotten another, can't remember. Didn't really care for this selection though.

Doubt if listening to the Carpenters or the Partridge Family is going to make you feel better.

    im partial to TOOL.

Their drummer is also INCREDIBLY talented. I would put him up in the top ten all time drummers. Guy has some ridiculous skill in keeping beats that are very complicated (played drums so I know a small bit).

Also, if you have never seen this before, here is a slight mind fuck.

To be clear, Maynard is the driving creative force behind both bands, with a perfect circle being the more mellow, (and less thought provoking) side project. One with lesser musicians......... But I still like APC, just not as much.

Indeed. Tool's best song remains Schism, and I have to admit I don't enjoy listening to a lot of their other stuff. But even if a particular song doesn't "move" me, I appreciate the talent. The bottom line is that any band that could create Schism is way beyond bad-ass and must be respected.

The only song A Perfect Circle ever made that is truly "great" for me is Weak And Powerless - the rest is just OK.. but that song is freaking epic. Makes it into my all time top 100 songs, which is ridiculously hard to do.

So the moral of the story is, both bands are F'ing awesome - deal with it. (Insert the smoking crab please).

And he keeps singing in step, people never remember that part.

TOOL is easily the most amazing band since pink floyd. They are one of those bands that breaks ground as they did with aenima as well as lateralus. they also always sound modern without having to reinvent themselves, like metallica cutting their hair and going grunge etc.

Danny Carey is without a doubt the greatest drummer alive today. No one can touch him, period.

Having seen both bands several times I can honestly say APC is very much a band you want to smoke pot and sit around listening to while TOOL is more like dropping acid and munching a few pills and finding yourself sweaty and half naked writhing around with a few strangers on the ground.

    I much prefer tool personally.
