Emmy-winning producer James Gordon Meek, an expert on military issues, had his apartment raided in April. He's been missing ever since.

James Gordon Meek had a mysterious background, but nonetheless seemed to frequently get scoops related to the US military -- both the good and the bad.

At 4:59am EDT on April 27, 2022, Meek fired off a tweet, quoting someone else and adding the word "Facts".

A few hours later, the FBI arrived with 10 vehicles, including one resembling a tank used for quickly grabbing military-related suspects, at his apartment complex. They raided the place. He has not been seen nor heard from since.

The FBI will not comment, and it's not clear if he's been charged with any crime, or if the FBI is holding him.

There are various possibilities:

1) He is in protective custody

2) He has been relocated via a witness protection type program

3) He is being held in a federal facility under suspicion of crime

4) He is hiding out, in fear of some sort of consequence either criminally or from one of his sources


Very weird. What's also interesting is that this raid came under the order of the Biden Administration, which had pledged to stop the practice of investigating and raiding journalists thought to have "useful" info. This was done by both Obama and Trump, and Biden said this wasn't going to happen anymore. Except it did.

which at face value is a legal and valid predicate for the raid, but politically it also primes the pump for holding trump accountable for his mishandling of classified docs and resultant poor decisions.

we will see i suppose.

I will say that it is unlikely he is dead or kidnapped.

Why?

Because he has an attorney who commented in the Rolling Stone article.

If he were dead, there wouldn't be an attorney treating him as if he's alive in public comment. And if he were kidnapped, the attorney would probably indicate that, as well.

So it seems he's alive, and... somewhere. We just don't know where.


And yes, the article did mention the possibility of classified documents on his laptop. Maybe that's where he fucked up. And maybe that was the excuse to arrest him, after he was being a thorn in the military's side.
