Not a lot of messages have been exchanged so Im just getting info but this is a screenshot of something he said? I dont understand much of this so I thought I would put it on here and let people with knowledge explain to me. All I understand is the last line

    Interesting.

Is there discussion of this anywhere else online?

He got into a minor scandal 3 years ago, when there was obvious chip dumping heads up to give him a WPT title. This was done in order to allow Leah to buy a WPT title, while giving up money to his opponent who cared more about the money than the title. His opponent, Ryan Yu, had a 2:1 chip lead at the time, making this particularly egregious.

Anyway, I will say that 2018 scandal would indicate Mike had enough money at the time to where he was willing to give some of it up just to get a WPT title, so clearly he wasn't hurting back then. But much can change in 3 years...

If you can refer me to any of the players who claim to have bet with him, I'd like to hear from them.

I can explain the screen shot. I do want to let everyone know that this is unverified, and perhaps this is either fabricated, old, about someone else, or taken out of context. There's also a reasonable chance it's true. I'm not making any allegations or conclusions until we get more info.

However, based upon the screen shot, it appears this is a bookie (perhaps Mike, perhaps someone else) who is in deep gambling debt of his own, has fallen behind in payments, and has established a priority system.

He's paying the sportsbetting fish first, provided they're still betting with him. (I bet they'll be somewhat insulted when they get an early payout, if they saw this message!)

Next he's paying the breakeven bettors who are stil betting with him.

Next, he's paying the skilled bettors whom he's still allowing to bet with him (which he concedes aren't many).

Next, he's paying the skilled bettors with "small or medium balances" who are no longer allowed to bet with him.

Next, he's paying the people who won money through freerolls, as well as bookies betting through him laying off action. (Laying off action means bookies betting the opposite side of a game where a customer has bet an amount uncomfortable for them. For example, if I were a bookie and someone bet $100,000 for the Bucks to win their next NBA game, I might go to a book and bet the other side for $90,000, thereby exposing myself to only $10,000 possible loss, while keeping the customer happy.)

Finally, he's paying the person receiving this message (apparently a +EV bettor who beat him for a lot) last. He also notes that he will be paying his own separate gambling debts last, though obviously there's no proof of this.

    How could this have happened?

A bookie with a gambling problem of his own could chunk off everything he has, betting with other bookies. Then he wouldn't be able to pay his customers, and after stalling, eventually you get a message like the above.

As of 2020, Mike Leah was still entering events when possible (there weren't many due to COVID), and in fact cashed 18 times (!!) at the 2020 online WSOP.

It is likely that Leah could get a good staking deal, and still seems to have a lot of poker skill. In fact, if I could trust him to pay me his winnings, I would stake him myself. If this report is true, it is possible he can play his way out of it, as long as he stays away from the sportsbetting.

    Here's his Twitter: https://twitter.com/GoLeafsGoEh/

    Profile is this
Dadx2-PokerPlayer WSOPBraceletWinner-WPTChampion Mango, Cash, Goji, BamBam, Em & @chri57ined Lover -DM me 4 VIP GGPoker or Str8bet.net account
https://Str8bet.net is mentioned there above. So yeah it does look like he's involved with it. The site appears to be one of those agent-banked sportsbooks, where the agent pays for the constant updated odds and the system taking/grading the bets, and then the agent is responsible for all of the money handling.

So if Mike was an agent for this thing, and can't pay, the above would be a possible result.

Nothing worse than being owed money by some scumbag and getting sent a list like that. Pathetic debtors get a perverted and fetish driven joy by this distorted sense of power. Ungrateful underclass

I may be wrong, but isn't Mike Leah related to Adam from the 2+2 Pokercast?

TBH in my whole Gambling days, since I am 5. I never heard such BS...

TBH if a Bookie sent me a letter like this I would break his ass.....plain and simple.

So I had to go look for a Pic of this embarrassment of a Bookie.

I am familiar with him... No Prob in the games.. but knowing he is a welcher is a disappointment

Mike Leah came 13th and his GF/Wife Christina Do came 4th on the GG Online WSOP Main Event. Total they cashed for over a million. I believe Christina is not even a professional player. Anyways, I guess this will all be sorted out if it hasn’t already.

I have played with him in tournaments 10 or so years ago and his play is extremely loose/aggressive. I busted in a satellite with about with about 4 times as many players left as seats. He had a big stack and was playing like every other hand. He could not fold his way into the money or anything like that at that stage, but it seemed like weird play, especially in a satellite.

He apparently determined I was playing too tight, and must be a nitfish, and got aggressive with me in a non poker way, saying things to me and so on.

Attached is a razz final table with cards up, which he busts out after about 27 minutes. He consistently makes unconventional loose plays, such as repeatedly calling completes with 2-card hands. You can steal with those hands, but generally not call with them.

He plays limit and mixed games tournaments, including at the WSOP. He may have some success at them, as some are very soft. I am sure he could have some success with his LAG approach in soft NLHE and mixed games tournaments, as well as maybe live 2/5 or 5/10 NL at least a few years ago. There is no way he could be a top player with that approach and would get ripped apart at high stakes.
