Florida bans teaching Critical Race Theory in its schools

This is the correct move. I know the blue states will never follow suit, but there's hope that other red states will also ban it.

Critical Race Theory is not merely the teaching of the history of racism in America. That's obviously something which needs to be taught. Instead, it goes one step further, and teaches children that America is still very racist, and that racism is embedded in all of its systems to put minorities (especially black people) at a disadvantage.

Even if you agree with the conclusions of Critical Race Theory, it shouldn't be taught in public schools, as it's a controversial opinion, rather than fact. Similarly, I would not support the teaching of controversial right wing opinions in the public classroom. For example, I would not approve of teaching "abortion is the murder of the unborn" in public classrooms.

Unfortunately, a lot of people on the woke left feel that teaching Critical Race Theory is "necessary", and that indeed we should be teaching kids controversial left wing opinion as fact. We should not, and this should never have made it into schools in the first place.

Note that Critical Race Theory lessons never allow students to present an alternate point of view, or to argue against it. Instead, it's taught as dogma which must not be challenged, and attempting to do so will earn you a failing grade.

Whoever is paying for the schools should determine what is being taught.

Red states can approve whatever they like and blue likewise. You don’t like it move to a state you are more aligned with or buy your kids an education.

I like the Red state Blue state division. This is our future. It is more similar to America’s origin story too. We have come full circle.

    Easy game.

I agree the states should determine it, but I'm stating here that I feel Florida made the right decision, and I wish the other 49 states would, as well. Many won't, but I wish they would.

Laws don't matter anymore. Nobody follows them.

    Separation of government is dead.

FL school districts will do what they do, with no fear.

    Courts have no power.

    Media doesn't give a fuck.

Gavin Newsom writes his own laws for his recall in CA, and the media prop him up.

Normally I'd be against a stupid, do nothing, feel good law, but proponents of CTR and their Dem apologist friends will ram it down your throat the first chance they get.

Courts, facts, be damned. We are in the post truth age. Rules go out the window.

I just demand if they're going to teach that, whenever they take the test, minority students (well, black and brown) can only achieve a C at best.

About the only way they could practically show that garbage in action.

This at least makes a little more sense than the last time the Republicans got their rubes all worked up with Sharia law bans in Texas. Similar in that I’m sure there was almost a zero percent chance they were going to teach it anyway in Florida, but it is being taught some places, unlike the nonsensical sharia law bans.

Daly I thought you were a little brighter then this, lol the weather.

It's actually bc both States have NO State Income Taxes. Yes the weather is nice too lol but NO State Income Taxes in Texas and Florida is why people are relocating there. Especially the retirees who are likely counting there pennies for the first time ever..

The current draw to both Florida and Texas is no State Income Taxes. Also why some, not all of the bigger Wall St firms are also starting to move to Florida as well (Taxes)...

I think the whitewashed version of American history that I was taught is laughable and damaging but don't think that it should be replaced with a trendy theory largely predicated on opinion.

I don't expect an underfunded and comparatively bad institution (education) compared to similar countries to replace the job of parenting.

    Or shit reporting...

they took that "study" from here...

    https://www.northamerican.com/migration-map

...it's a moving company that just ran the numbers on 70k people they moved that year.

    Top inbound states

    Idaho 70%
    Arizona 64%
    South Carolina 63%
    Tennessee 63%
    North Carolina 61%

Florida is 6th and Texas is 7th.

    Top outbound states
    Illinois 69%
    New York 65%
    California 64%
    New Jersey 64%
    Maryland 61%

So it's just random partisan faggotry. Breaking911 tends to do that.

    Here's another random moving company...

    https://www.atlasvanlines.com/migration-patterns

...they moved 64k people with completely different top lists.

That happens when you try to extrapolate where millions of people moved from 64-70k sample size that only represents people that used aforementioned services.

Not going to react to your take on what is taught to your children in your schools, the results speak for themselves, but let’s drop the “United” part of the U.S.A.. It was never true and isn’t close at this time. Other nations are flying by and will continue to do so.

    It isn't the politics.

You can look forward to many of those "inbound" states being solidly blue in another decade or so. Including Texas.

Banning discussion of some theories in school to narrow the range of thought is very American.

This is no different than the SJW speech codes and woke censorship you complain about. It's just that you happen to agree with this one.

People arent' relocating to Texas and Florida because they have no taxes. They are moving away from outrageous taxes and regulations. Even billionaires are leaving California and its going to get worse on them. Cali's answer to the exodus is to raise taxes even higher and this will drive more of them out.

You just can't reason with socialist ideologues on taxes and regulations. The more you pay the more they want. They are responsible for their own demise.
