Mount Adams a couple of weeks ago. First climbed it successfully in June 2019 as a total moron in hiking boots.

Tried again in September 2020, quickly realizing that COVID fucked up my lungs by the second mile. Took a seat until the sun came up and staggered my way back.

Set off this time around 2:30am after some light sleep in my car, having gotten to the trailhead about 8:30pm. Prime conditions up to the 'false summit', where you think you're about done only to step up and realize there's a shitload more to go. The winds picked up to around 25 MPH (stronger than forecasted), which is more unpleasant than anything but will dehydrate you quickly. Was slowed up a bit by the altitude for the final stretch at about 12,000 feet which may have been a result of going fast up until that point or possibly residual COVID, not sure.

Topped off around 9:10am and stayed only for a couple of minutes due to wild wind before glissading down (sit on ass and use ice axe as a rudder/brake) for a massive portion of it due to the snow getting soft with the sun on it. Back to car by 12:15pm.

Under 10 hours car to car is pretty strong (most people will climb up 75% and camp, making it a two-day climb) but sometimes the stars just align - good weather, felt great throughout, could glissade down, no hiccups, etc. It's probably the most grueling thing I've done this year but was easy by comparison this time.

Massive granite boulder field between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming. Bouldered and climbed for several hours to acclimate (roughly 8,000 ft) for higher shit later in the week.

Below is the Snowy Range in Wyoming.

Mount Sunapee NH the other day, icy and only partially groomed due to very recent snowfall. Challenging terrain.

    Mount Hood from May 1st.

Started at midnight from Timberline Ski Lodge and climbed through the night.

First image in the 'pearly gates' section right before summiting. Weather rolled in and conditions quickly became terrible.

Tagged the summit in complete whiteout and then froze my ass off in 25mph winds before rappelling down to a safer area. Was fairly scared when it took several attempts to secure an anchor as downclimbing that ropeless would have been terrifying.

Once down like 1000 ft. the sky opened back up and the descent down was beautiful.

About halfway up Unicorn Peak in the Tatoosh Range of Mount Rainier National Park this morning. Beautiful park to check out.

Turned back shortly thereafter as the fog/clouds got so thick I could barely see my boots.

Lot of driving to get cucked by unexpected weather but all in the game.

The guy who put in the hurricane shutters left a hole and it turned into a bee hive. Guy thinks it may habe been there most of the past two years. The block of honey comb in the first picture was one of 8! The neighbors were happy with the fresh honey.

Bad news is cost be $1000 for a professional removal and the carpentry to fix it all up.

The good news is we can claim good environmental credit for not killing the colony. The beekeeper was uber good and was able to find the queen in that mess. He will move the colony to his farm and he will pimp them out to farmers and orange groves.
