Also its been proven that N95s shouldnt be worn non stop for hours on end. The chemicals in the mask being inhaled I believe they are known as VOC and others can actually be toxic and cause damage to the breathing system in the body.
If anything hes wearing this to hide tells and not for a legit purpose. Hell I got a family member who works in healthcare and they said nobody wears the same mask. It goes on and comes off when they leave period. Your breath will dampen the stuff its made of and eventually it wont work, plus to work effectively they have to be fitted to a person by a qualified like environmental and health person neither of which I guarantee Haxton has done.
Its a panacea at best at worst its him using it to hide tells and indirectly an angle shooting attempt to tilt fellow players.
FYI CDC isnt expecting masking unless numbers are in High or Medium High levels which it appears Clarke County is not therefore NO he's not following CDC guidelines as put forth and clearly further down it would seem hes unlikely following proper mask requirement and per checking websites there have been only a handful of cases at all in Clark on avf and none in the month of December at all. with literally zero deaths in months.
Haxton is at best a hypochondriac at this point and is probably risking his life more wearing that mask then not wearing it by a massive margin.

The average net worth of Skatz posters is north of a million. There were at least three multimillionaire posters, myself included. I know there are a few who lie about having a few dollars on PFA, but I'd still say the average person here has a net worth decently into the six figures. Everyone is for the most part well off or broke, not many in between.

Anyway, N95 Ike may have accidentally backed into something semi-correct. Right now there's a new COVID variant ripping through the US population, called JN.1. Like all other Omicron variants, it is not dangerous to those under 65. With Ike being 38, clearly his life and long term health are not in danger.
However, it is spreading like wildfire at the moment. Anecdotally, I know tons of people who caught COVID in the past 3 weeks, including my mom (who thankfully experienced a mild version, despite being in the age group where modern COVID actually does kill people.)
For the past several months, almost nobody I knew personally had COVID. Now it seems everyone is getting it.
So if you're spending many hours every day in a casino (very easy to get COVID there) like Ike does, that awful N-95 does help prevent getting sick. And the last thing Ike wants is to be entering a $1m buyin tournament and then getting really sick in the middle.
So at times like these, I don't blame him for wearing the N-95, though I hate masks and refuse to wear them while playing poker. I'd rather just not play (or play online).
However, I should note that he is mainly wearing the mask because he's part of the left wing COVID panic cult, which is why he wears it in winners photos. He is so proud of himself for "tilting MAGA" while wearing it.
The guy is very intelligent, but has zero common sense when it comes to anything political. Mind you, he was the one who encouraged poker pros to donate to the Minnesota Freedom Fund in 2020, which bailed out rioters, and then later bailed out pedos, rapists, and murderers.
I've never understood the obsession with masks, on both sides. I don't give a shit if someone feels compelled to wear a hazmat suit. Equally, I never understood why anyone cares if someone is not wearing a mask either. Same with the Covid shot, I could care less in either direction.
If I had one macro wish in life, its not for world wide peace or eradication of disease. It would be for everyone to just mind their own fucking business. Especially the government.

I haven't encountered this at all. I masked up early on because I had family that was dealing severe health issues. That family member moved out of state and now I don't wear a mask. I see people in the store wearing them and I don't think twice. Honestly, I'm probably going to mask up during the flu season to avoid that shit. I don't care if anyone wears a mask or if they don't, it's up to them. What happened to mind your own business?
