So since I love a good "business versus customer" internet story, I decided to take a few minutes to look into this further.

I waited for a couple of reasons, one I needed to make sure the “charges” against me were dropped and also I’m a little(very)nervous to put myself out there like this. However, I think it’s important that people see what is going on in this town.
Jonesta Kimble and I decided to go on an adventure with our 5 kids total. Our third day we made it to Mackinaw City with plans to go to the island the next day. We stayed at the Crown Choice Inn and Suites. The hotel wasn’t great but we were determined to make the best of it. Around 11 my kids and I went to bed. My son heard water running and discovered the bathroom was flooding. I ran down to the front desk. He asked me if I shut the valve off and I said no I am coming to you for help. He stated that since I refused to turn the water off it was my responsibility and he was calling the police to charge me with malicious destruction of property. He said we needed to pack our bags and leave. He told me I was an “idiot”, a “dumbass” and several other derogatory names. I was in such shock but managed to start recording this about halfway through the conversation. The police came, my friend packed up 5 kids and two moms and we had to leave the hotel after midnight. There was only one other hotel in Mackinaw that was open and not owned by this family. We tried but they were full. So at 2:30 in the morning we made it to Gaylord and went home the next day.
When I got home I found there are terrible reviews and many complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau regarding the poor quality, cleanliness and customer service for this hotel and others.
Please feel free to share as I do not want anyone to go through this experience. There are so many beautiful places in Michigan and unfortunately this is one that’s not worth your time or money.

There isn't much publicly accessible regarding her Facebook posts, but what I can see is just standard stuff of a woman posting pics of trips and family outings. I was hoping to get a glimpse at posts which give us a look into her personality, but alas we don't get that.
Now let's move on to this hotel, the Crown Choice Inn in Mackinaw City, MI.
Mackinaw City is on a peninsula at the northeastern tip of Lake Michigan. Apparently it's where people stay sometimes before taking a ferry to nearby Macknac Island, which someone here described as a "shithole". Having only been to Michigan once in my life, and never venturing much out of greater Detroit, I have no familiarity with the area. Apparently people also come to the area in the winter to see blue ice which appears there. (I've only seen blue ice in Canada and Alaska.)

Laughably, it also calls itself a "water park", which looks like just a pool area with a big plastic slide and a few little water features.
Of 468 reviews, 190 are 1 star, and 60 are 2 star. Somehow there are 110 5-star reviews, which is unusual for a property with about 40% 1-star reviews. Maybe some were bought? Weird.
Anyway, the 190 out of 468 1-star reviews is reallllllllly bad, and keep in mind these were reviews BEFORE this incident. The reviews since the incident, posted by people who saw the above video, were all deleted by Tripadvisor.
Many of the reviews claim that the place was dirty, and that the ownership/management was rude.

Been to both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. There are casinos there. The 5-mile long Mackinac Bridge is located there. Longest suspension bridge in the US. Connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Nice country. Summer tourism is big as midwesterners go north for cooler weather in the summer.

This hotel owner, Ben Lucchese, sounds like a real certifiable piece of shit. Sounds like he owns and/or runs several hotels there in the area. There are bad reviews going back several years from different hotels highlighting what a pile of garbage he really is. I would imagine his shitty personality rubs off onto the few staff he somehow manages to hire and keep as well.
That aside, I think some are maybe confusing Mackinaw City on the mainland with Mackinac Island.
Mackinaw City is where this situation happened. If you go to the Island, yes you will probably see horseshit...because horses are literally the only form of travel. There are workers assigned to make sure shit gets picked up. Motorized vehicles are not allowed (unless i think a couple of emergency vehicles).
About 25 years ago I stayed on the island for a few days at The Grand Hotel. One of a kind experience and no complaints.

So after doing a little reading, I learned that the hotel in question is actually owned by Joseph Lieghio and his family. The guy in the video is apparently the manager and a cousin that has been working in the family business for years.
Apparently the family literally owns more or less 30 or so hotels and restaurants in Mackinaw City. From what I've gathered, you might as well say they run the city.
I dont have the time or energy to look it up right now, but all of the hotels you just mentioned are probably owned by them.
They have a long long history of complaints by both customers and staff and they quite simply dont give a shit.
