ACR tech disaster on big Sunday tournament, Moneymaker trying to do damage control

ACR had yet another tech issue destroy a major tournament, and Chris Moneymaker has taken the lead to try and calm people down.

I'll give Moneymaker credit -- he's not just using his big name appear in promos and cash checks. He's trying hard to take a leadership role, even though these issues are out of his control.

Moneymaker doing a great job here. People were really impressed with how he offered to buy the tickets from the customer who felt he deserved a refund, when ACR wasn't giving one!

Always liked Chris and felt he was great for poker. His calm, egoless demeanor is always refreshing to see. Compare this to other brand ambassadors (of all sites) who often get nasty and condescending when people complain to them.

Faraz Jaka has decided to go to bat for ACR for some reason.

For those of you don't know, he's a traveling tourney pro with no permanent residence. Oddly, he's still doing it that way, even with a wife and baby!

Anyway, here's what he had to say about ACR's problems:

I understand what he's trying to say, and as a software developer, it's really frustrating when customers or bosses just shout "FIX IT!!!" without understanding the difficulty in doing so. Sometimes problems which seem tough to solve to the layman can be an incredibly easy fix, and sometimes "simple" problems can be very tough/expensive to fix.

However, it's absurd that he's trying to assert that ACR's unusually unstable platform is just an inevitability of 2021 online poker. If Pokerstars could built a robust site with 2002 technology, ACR can do it in 2021, and it should require a fraction of the budget.

I get that he's saying that some of these issues might require an entire rewrite of the software, but what he's missing is that even if he's right, much of the work already done could be recycled, and this project could easily have been underway in the background a long time ago.

What's bizarre is his motivation for this strong line of defense, when apparently he has no connection to ACR. Perhaps that's where he recommends his students play, and doesn't want to look like a fool for recommending it?

Personally I think Nagy should put more money into updating the shitload of old server equipment they have in Costa Rica, but good for her. I don’t know how much was pre-mediated, but at a certain point I’m sure she knew all that attention could lead to something like this. Cant say I blame her.
A few days later she was for sure a winning player. The equipment/software still sucks.

shoeshine box: If only it were that simple. #Just invest in developers and servers! Hmm wonder why they haven’t thought of that. As for the analysis on the marketing budget w/o knowing a thing about their financials...that’s like trying to play the river without
