Even fans in the state of Washington think the Packers were screwed at the end of Monday night's game.

ESPN.com asked fans in an online poll: "What did you make of the TD call at the end of the Packers-Seahawks game?"

Of about 128,000 votes cast by noon Tuesday, 88% answered: "It should have been an interception." The other 12% answered: "It was correctly called a touchdown."

Of the more than 4,800 votes coming from the state of Washington, the home of the Seahawks, 62% said the play should have been ruled an interception and 38% said it was a touchdown.

In Wisconsin, 97% of the votes were for interception and 3% said touchdown.

ESPN.com also asked voters: "Should the NFL fine Packers players for profane tweets criticizing the league and referees as a result of Monday night's game?"

"No" said 77% of the votes. "Yes" said the other 23%.

This makes up for a couple of years ago when we left with the game in hand and somehow lost it while we were in the parking garage.
Say what you want it would have been great to watch from anywhere for you, but it would have been an insane lifetime memory to be there and witness it. Just saying
It's an insane lifetime memory either way shady. Doing the walk of shame away from the stadium only to find out we have life and huddle around the outside of whatever that place was with 20 other seahawk fans was totally surreal.

Hey from this angle we can at least see Tate had some contact with the ball.

There should be a new rule that all monkeys must wear a white shirt underneath there uniform so this crap doesn't happen again.. The ref thought jennings arm was the ball!! Until the real refs are back this rule needs to be implemented!!

Monday Night Football controversy has bankrupted some gamblers, and left an entire nation of Green Bay Packers fans to sulk around the office Tuesday morning. With time expiring, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson heaved a 24-yard pass into the end zone, and that's where it got complicated. To most observers, including the ESPN broadcast team, Green Bay defender MD Jennings intercepted the ball at its highest point and cradled the ball to the ground.

Tell that to the NFL replacement officials.

One referee signaled touchdown. One signaled time expired. All 67,000 fans in attendance at Qwest Field erupted. A replay would ensue, but it was not meant to be for Green Bay Packers fans, nor sports bettors banking on both a pointspread and moneyline win.

Seattle would ultimately prevail 14-12. It seemed that the score line might end 13-12, until somebody reminded the officials that the game cannot end until an extra point was attempted. Eleven and a half minutes later, the Packers returned to the field to complete the game.

An argument made by some online bloggers has been that in instances of simultaneous possession, the offensive player is always awarded the ball, which would have been the logic the replacement refs ruled by; we can only hope. However, according to the NFL rule book, simultaneous possession only applies when both defender and receiver each make contact with the ball in the air and bring it the ground. The TV replay appeared to clearly show GB defender Jennings catching the ball, only to have it pawed desperately by Seattle receiver Golden Tate.

The blown call not only undermined the integrity of the NFL, following three weeks of replacement ref controversy, it also caused an alleged $250 million swing for Las Vegas Casinos. According to a report by ESPN, John Avello, sportsbook director at the Wynn had the following to say: "The shift was 100 percent. After the (Seahawks) score, all bets were reversed."

In addition to disgruntled NFL sports bettors in Las Vegas, millions of sports bettors that wager online are reeling. SBRForum users clamored for online sportsbooks to issue refunds. Heritage Sportsbook (SBR rating A) did the next best thing, deciding to issue anyone who bet the Packers with a freeplay relative to their risk amount. Heritage management confirmed to SBR that the controversial ending swung the night's profits substantially.

For sports bettors, this feels a lot like the disputed ending of the Steelers vs Dolphins game in 2010, where a blown call resulted in Miami being robbed of a touchdown as time expired. There was less public backlash, as the Steelers were prohibitive favorites in the game; however, Miami Dolphins backers were left feeling that the gambling gods were unhappy with them.

Green Bay Packers fans and bettors are feeling the same way.

ROFL. It's not even close to being the same thing. Why do you think people spend thousands of dollars on tickets? It's not to watch it in a bar after leaving. But, whatever you have to tell yourself.

Azzclown, we've had season tickets since 76 and I've been to just about every game since I was 12 years old so don't fucking tell me what I know and don't know. I was there when Curt Warner blew his knee out in 83, I was there when Largent took Harden's head off in 89, I've been to every Seahawk home playoff game in team history, I was there for the NFC Championship, I was there for the Beastquake against New Orleans and I was there yesterday. The point of this is I know what I'm talking about and when I tell you it was an entirely unique experience you should bank it instead of talking shit.

The problem with your analysis is that it is incorrect and you're talking out your azz.

    lolzclown

Cross posted from you know where:

Jitters, I'll give you the whole story since this dip seems to have gotten some legs.

The backstory is that our whole family,(my wife, two kids, my folks, my brother, his wife and their two kids) took a ONE DAY cruise from Seattle to Vancouver BC on Saturday. This means we got up on Saturday, dropped the fam off at the north cruise piers, returned the cars to the Seattle train station, took a cab, went through security and got on the ship by about 1pm on Saturday.

We get to our room, meet up with the fam, have dinner, have many drinks and get to bed late.

We muster in the morning and have to get all of our sorry asses off the boat by 9am. We cab it over to the Grand Westin where we have a room to put all of out shit in for the day and then head out in search of drinks and football on tv.

I've never seen more homeless young junkies than I have in Vancouver BC on Sunday. It was pathetic and sad, but we finally found a place where we (including jr) could watch the games.

We do this all day and then get to the train station at 4:45 to take the 5:45 train back to Seattle.

The train trip was long and uncomfortable, and we roll in about 10:45 and we are totally wiped. By the time we get home it's about 11am and we're done.

I get up on Monday, get jr to school by 7am and I'm working my ass off knowing I need to get my shit together so I can be ready to rock this game by 3pm or so. I'm kind of a zombie but duty calls so I make it happen.

We meet back at my dad's, have a few pops and off to the game. Parking was horrendous so we can't park in our normal spot and end up in hell and gone.

So we have many more at the game and are giving it all we got but were wiped out by the end of the 4th quarter. I thought we had 1 time out left, but the bottom line was when we missed the 4th down pass, my dad jumped up and headed out and that was pretty much it. I probably could have insisted but I wasn't really thinking straight so off we went on our 2 mile jaunt back to the car.

If I had my wits about me we would have stayed, but at the end of the day it was unbelievable leaving as losers and watching the end outside that bar with 20 some other fans was really, really cool.

I absolutely love the chaos that the replacement refs are delivering.

I watch NFL to be entertained and to occasionally sweat out a few dollars and the entertainment value of these clown calls is fantastic. The Ravens-Patriots game was more entertaining in terms of officiating but obv last night takes the cake.

LOL at the outcry. It's a game.

LOL at Paul Ryan and Barack Obama commenting on it.

Neither. I don't bullshit around on the boards azz, and if I had major regrets I would cop to it. I call it as I see it and was simply explaining what happened.
