**** Official NCAA Football Thread ****

Thought we already had one of these, but I can't seem to find it. Bama-Michigan the headliner of the weekend obviously. A few other interesting games include MSU-Boise State on Friday night, Penn State-Ohio is interesting given the Sandusky mess and Ohio is projected to be good. Season kicks off tonight with S.Carolina-Vandy.

Floyd Mayweather loves him some Michigan +14

Floyd Mayweather bet $3 million on Alabama-Michigan game?

Do you like Michigan +14 vs. Alabama in the Cowboys Classic on Saturday? Floyd Mayweather apparently does … so much so that he’s allegedly wagered a cool $3 million on the Wolverines.

(Question: at what number exactly does an amount of money wagered on a sporting event become “cool”? And as the amount goes down, does the word change? He bet a clammy $50 on Chelsea to beat Norwich City).

According to the International Business Times, 69 percent of bettors are giving the points and taking the Crimson Tide.

The $3 million may the cash that Mayweather was counting on the plane the other day. I’m not sure about you, but I’d find it very difficult to walk up to a casino cage, and hand over 3 mil and say the words: “Put it all on Brady Hoke.”

Meanwhile, Mayweather says he’d still like to fight Manny Pacquiao.

I highly doubt he put 3 mill unless he spread it out over alot of casinos. I do like the play though, but unless you have inside info its really hard to love a game this early.

I had no opinion yesterday, but this one was golden. Hopefully you got down on it. I figured it may take Leach a while to get the ball rolling, but his presence was enough to scare me away from an under.

Michigan has an uphill battle in the trenches, and are mostly one-dimensional at this point as they have weak wide receivers. Being one dimensional against Bama usually doesn't bode well. I'm a Buckeye, so all I really want is to see Denard get crushed.

I think the polls pretty much have it right. USC, Bama, and LSU are all scary good. USC has to stay healthy as they are thin. Of the teams currently ranked high, I think Oregon, Michigan and South Carolina will all disappoint mostly because they just have tough schedules. Oregon likely to have to play USC twice. South Carolina looked like shit last night, and I think they'll have issues in the SEC. Notre Dame is ranked 24th in the coaches and I'd be shocked if they are better than .500 with their schedule this year.

I am interested to see WVU play in the Big 12. Oklahoma is going to have a tough game at WVU. They have a really good coach right now, low academic enrollment standards, so they are getting some sick athletes that may not qualify elsewhere, and a ton of team speed. Going to be brutal for opponents to make that trip as there is no local airport, so every trip by a Big12 school requires a long flight into Pittsburgh or a regional landing strip and then a bus ride. I am thinking there may be some good betting spots for their home Big12 games.

Yup I got down on all 3, though.
I had a fantasy thing last night, the only update I got was EMU up 13-10 in the 2nd, they got smoked in the 3rd.
    UCLA just destroyed.

I like NC State tonight, hopefully get back to minus juice.

Going out to the farm to watch Stanford (minus Luck) tonight.
I might take SJ state, it is still @ Stan -24, but w/it being 1 of only 3 total games on the board, and the night cap, I can see it going up to 26 or more. Especially locally.

What about FSU and possibly either Arkansas or the Bulldogs coming up big?

Might be a good bet if the line keeps rising. I know San Jose State got a JUCO transfer Qb who is supposed to be pretty good. Stanford I think has a very good front 7, so I guess it's simply a matter of whether the line for SJ State holds up and gives the new kid time.

Honestly, I don't have a feeling about any of those 3 teams. Arky got John L/ Smith, and judging from his time at MSU, that isn't a good thing. His teams were erratic. FSU is talented as hell, but they were talented as hell last year. Jimbo is going to have to show that he can get it done before I believe. Georgia is always talented, but they seem to always under-perform, and it's a rough conference when you're the only football power in the SEC that doesn't over sign. It's hard to project this early in the year. usually my picks and everything else are much better after about the 4th week. I'd be better served to just watch the first month and then start betting as I usually dig a hole early that i have to climb out of later, but I'm a degen, so it is what it s.

Holy shit, I hated you before 4bet but with this comment I sincerely hope you die a slow painful death from superAids likes today. At what point will Michigan stop calling this a rivalry with THE Ohio State University? Ohio State wins like 9/10 and Michigan still thinks they are good for some reason?
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Before 1918 Michigan was 13-0-2 vs Ohio State. If you really want to use those games to bolster your argument, then so be it. The more believable series record is 45-43-4 in Michigans favor (thats including a voided game from 2010 that Ohio State won on the field. Truly the record is 45-44-4). Thats a pretty even matchup lifetime. What is more noteworthy is the records in the past 10 years. Thats long enough to say with certainty which team has been better. In the past 10 years Ohio State holds a commanding 8-2 record. The last time Michigan came into the Horseshoe and won was in 2000. If you really expect that streak to be broken this year, you my friend are an imbecile. You want to throw some money down on it?

So even when you decide to start from 1933 or so You still come up with the big M on top. You have tried to twist the numbers and still Michigan owns their ass and B.T.W A voided game is just that VOIDED
