8 people sit at a table. 7 of them are 'in' on the experiment, one of them is the study, and he/she is seated in seat 6.
A series of different length lines are shown to the group, and the each member in seated order is asked which is the longest line.
For the first 2 rounds, the correct answers are given.
Starting in round 3, the first 5 seats start to provide the wrong answer.
Approximately 2/3 of the time, test subjects will overrule what their own fucking eyes are telling them and simply repeat what the previous five seats have incorrectly identified as the longest line.
This study has been performed for decades and the results are consistent.
