"South African runner Oscar Pistorius backtracked Monday after claiming his Brazilian rival won the 200-meter finals at the 2012 Paralympics because of an unfair advantage.
Pistorius, a double amputee known as the “Blade Runner,” was favored to win Sunday’s race — and said moments after narrowly losing that it was “ridiculous” that Alan Oliveira earned gold.
Oliveira, also a double amputee, ran with a visibly longer carbon fiber prosthesis, which Pistorius claimed gave him a longer stride.
“He’s never run a 21-second race and I don’t think he’s a 21-second athlete,” Pistorius said of Oliveira after the results. “I’ve never lost a 200-meter race in my career.”
so he argues that he should be allowed to race in the olympics and his prosthetics give him no advantage over able-bodied athletes(which i agree with i mean he came in last in his qualifying heat), but then throws a fit when he gets beat by a guy with better prosthetics? too bad this guy was one of the feel good stories of the olympics, now he is being a douche.
