No worries. I’m curious about running horses in these free races. Are we not just artificially boosting them outside of their desired class? Since you can’t lose points like a normal race?

I still feel misty may have some chance in mile runs. Plus she has good genes I believe. But yes trying to decide whether to breed her or buy new horse altogether.

Rick Ankiel doesn't have the best stats but that's because i ran him wrong - i only found out through free races that his best distances are 2400 & 2600

the problem is the free races classed him up all the way to class 2 - i've classed him down to class 3 but he really needs to be in either class 4 or 5 so it'll cost you maybe $30 or so to get him there

i'll sell him to you for $40 if you want - that way you can breed him with misty if you like and he should do well as a class 5 or 4 marathoner

i think your best bet is to spend .05 eth (about $200) on an unraced horse - you can buy horses that cost me almost $1k two months ago for that - like exclusive nakas or szabos fillies with a Z less than 10

having a class system with an optimal strat that forces you to lose races and class down sounds absolutely terrible btw id say that prob be a part of why prices crashed

For Rick I said 2400-2600 but his best distance might be 2200. He’s pulling flames 60% of the time there

Projekt SEP is like that, as well. He's a marathon horse, but his best length by far is 2200.

Similarly, Ptarmigan can win at 1000-1400, but is best at 1400. Catfish can also win from 1000-1400, but her best lengths are 1000-1200.

Then you also have to figure out what class and $ amount your horse performs best, and try to stick to that (except to class down).

This is actually great if you have some horses stuck up a class or two from the first tourney

because to get into the tourney you need a lot of mid finishes, but once in the tournament it’s normal racing again

Misty is done at 11 point average and stuck in class three pretty much finishing bottom three every race.

Rick has somewhat of a shot. After 22 races he is averaging 32 points. Unfortunately he just levelled to class 1 so unsure if he can hold his average points to 30 races. Also with more and more horses qualifying I wouldn't be surprised if you need to average 35 plus points a race to have any shot of moving on.

Unfortunately looks like Rick has gone from 5th-2nd places finished is class two to 8-10th in class one. I don;t feel like paying to have him drop back down to class 2 but that seems to be the optimum way to do well in these tourneys.
