People crying that Race fixing is already being implemented and that is not good

inevitably I figured this was going to happen in some way or another, and here it is apparently. When you factor in the 'Stable' dynamic, so each stable owner (husler) can theoretically implement certain strategies. Such as this, to try and totally game this, Stables with many great horse can do it as this person is implying happening right here. Druff also mentioned the noticeable amount of sandbagging already going on lol huslers gonna husle of course.

This was the post I just saw this here, and it has some merit too obviously (Zed #huslin lmao)......

"Race fixing is becoming a real thing. Just a note for anyone shopping out there. Notice that the unbelievable odds for Dragon Fire in last two races are due to only two stables entering horses to fix the race https://www.hawku.com/horse/25068 They then listed the horse for 10ETH

Druff, you have made a career of taking money from lesser poker players.....

Don't hate people trying to game the system, it was inevitable.

Looks like they don't punish any stables for taking advantage of glitches, colluding, exploiting, etc.

This is a problem because everyone knows they have carte blanche to try to get away with whatever they can. While I'm glad there's not a Malmuth-like overaggressive banning crew there, it's frustrating to hear about these various tricks being played.

I just want to breed horses, race them, have fun, and maybe luck into making some money.

the problem is they are understaffed, and don't have enough people to fix the most pressing issues

a security team is the least of their worries right now, but it's another reason you should send them an offer to head the customer service and anti-fraud department

if anyone from PFA wants a starter horse i can sell him to you for $75 if you message me before someone buys him

    Major update coming:

Over the coming weeks, the following updates will be implemented to improve the racing experience.

    - More races! Plenty of $2.50 races, plus new types of racing events.

    - Farewell to queues! Races will soon commence 5 minutes after the last gate is filled.

    - Take a breath… fatigue will soon be here and we thank you for your feedback. More details below.

    - Improved competition within all racing classes.

    - While odds are being removed, you will now be able to see how your racehorse measures up to its competition!

    - Leaderboards and New Rating System to improve classes.
    Full details here: https://community.zed.run/2021/08/03/racing-update/

    Most of this is good.

The only thing I don't like is the removal of odds -- where basically you're going to be stuck racing donkeys repeatedly to figure out whether or not they're donkeys. Not fun.

I understand the counter argument -- that this will force weaker (newly bred) horses back into more races, as their owners try to figure out if they're good or bad. However, this doesn't really bring much of a new skill element, and just makes horse analysis more tedious (and expensive).

I do like the plans to bring in some sort of donk bracket, where the weaker horses can race.

They're going to fix the sandbagging problem, by making it impossible to lower your horse's rating by having it race in classes above where it's currently ranked. However, this doesn't address the sandbagging people do by simply entering their horse in a length it's not good at. For example, my best horse Flying Stupidity is very good at 2200-2400, but awwwwwwwful at 1600. If I race him at 1600, it's a guaranteed loss. Many other good horses have situations like this, as well.

The best solution to sandbagging is this:

Rank based upon record in the horse's best lengths, adjusted for quality of competition. So if your horse's best lengths have it beating horses at class 4 but not at class 2, make it class 3. Then ignore all other lengths, and also ignore all losses in classes above the current class.

A tale of two horses born August 4, 2021.

Ptarmigan, son of the legendary Flying Stupidity, is off to a great start. Odds in his first five races are all sub-9, with three of them being under 7. Excellent!

This Space For Rent, the product of my Z9 genesis filly Leave It To Arno (unraced) and a very good Z9 Buterin dad (not in my stable), is a true donkey. Odds 28, 44, and 44 in his first 3 races. This girl is my first full donk. If anyone here wants her, I'll let her go cheap.

Ptarmigan was bred in-house with Tiquero. The other horses born to Tiquero (Z6 genesis) were mediocre, so clearing it's Flying's genes making Ptarmigan good. Interestingly, Ptarmigan seems good at short and middle races, whereas his dad is good at long races.

Anyway, I'm happy to finally have a second strong horse in Babb Stables.

Two donks (not in my stable) tried to mate with Flying Stupidity. It didn't go well.

Special Rend: https://www.hawku.com/horse/69883 (odds over 30 in non-griffin races)

Chimichangas: https://www.hawku.com/horse/69719 (44 odds in griffin)

Sorry, but Flying ain't producing good horses with non-genesis moms.

Offspring Ptarmigan (with mom being my Z6 genesis Tiquero) is his only good kid: https://www.hawku.com/horse/69570

Also somehow they got a marketing partnership with NASCAR going.

That makes Stella Artois, Atari, and NASCAR all partners, in a short period of time.

Whoever their partnerships guy is, they don't pay him enough.

that's about as late of a break as i've seen

200 meters that far back and he kept going even after they lowered their heads

and there are actually a ton of good exclusives and elites with high z numbers

that atari track is sick, the mockups for the nascar track look pretty cool as well

so i was watching a chateux zed video earlier and thought of something

he had mentioned retiring a horse but that it could be a decent tournament horse

zed doesn't currently run tournaments but the community has set up some for charity

what zed offers now is basically like a SNG in poker, so i thought about creating an MTT (shootout), and it goes like this

    round 1:
start with 432 horses in 36 races - top 6 (half) from each race advances

    round 2:
    216 horses in 18 races - top 3 advance

    round 3:
    72 horses in 6 races - top 2 advance

    finals:
12 horses - pays out like an MTT

before each race a random distance is selected

i think this is a way you can get utility out of otherwise not great racers and attract more people hoping to hit that big MTT payday

obviously the number of horses to start the first round can change, as well as how many make it past each round but this is just a rough draft

    whaddya think?

That's actually a good idea, Willie.

Zed needs to hire you as a product consultant and me as a security/fraud consultant.

Then we can get some of that sweet NASCAR money.
