David Valdez, a very well-liked Northern CA poker pro died unexpectedly yesterday.

Valdez wasn't a household name in poker, but everyone who met him thought really highly of him. He never quite hit the elusive big tournament score, but he did cash 8 times in the 2019 WSOP, so the talent was definitely there.
A cause of death wasn't disclosed or known. Valdez had the nickname "Beast", and was described as a "gentle giant". Since he was a very big guy, I'm guessing this death was heart-related.
Didn't know him, so I can't comment further. Sounds like a good guy though. I wonder if he ever played with Postle.
RIP
