Honestly we should start an **OFFICIAL** second dose trip report thread.

I've had some bad food poisoning but have never fully shit myself in adulthood, sounds rough.

Can I get in on one of your wife's hookups now? Christ, trying to schedule an appointment now is like trying to buy a ps5.

Can get them if you're willing to wait/drive.

Know a lot of.people who have bit the bullet and waited at the Convention Center. I trucked it to Salem to get dose 2.

Pop up clinics are ghost towns after 2 weeks here, you have the sheep that ran to them, now empty.

If you're between the Moderna or Phizer I'd go the latter all day every day. I know many many people who have had both and can say with good authority the Moderna side effects can be brutal. I only know one person who didn't have any from that vaccine. The Phizer is very tame. I thought JnJ was supposed to be tame but I guess not for me. I don't get sick much honestly but the one time I got a flu shot it knocked me on my ass for a day or so as well.

BCR: This has been my experience also. I went in blind, but was happy I got Pfizer.

Find a rural county and you’ll be in far more quickly. That’s a reoccurring theme for everyone I know regardless of state. Filter for education, pick the place with little, and you’ll be in within a few days. That probably requires a drive given you live in a city I think of as youngish and educated.

My friends in Columbus had to go out to farm country. Here in hoaxerville county, there are a lot of options. I strangely have the largest mass vaccination site in the state around the corner just because we had a mall go belly up. I was already into process before it opened, so I didn’t use it.

Idk how old you are? Always struck me as certainly younger than me. Mid-late 30s? If I was under 40 I’d probably just go the one shot route and make the drive less burdensome, but that might make future boosters and such more of a hassle. I don’t know how that works as far as if you can mix and match going forward should the need arise in six months.

BCR: You’ll probably be in and out in 5 minutes in Portland on 4/20. Not shocking there was an opening. Good luck.

Pfizer dose 2 on Thursday. Sore arm. Got kinda tired. Few aches and pains the next day or two. Everything minor though.

    41

Glad It’s over. Happy with Pfizer.

I’m right at about 22 hours past second shot.

First couple hours, I almost felt like I was going to get a little something. The beginnings of a headache or cold, but it just went away and from 6 hour usual onset, I was a little stiff and that’s about it. Like my spine. Nothing sore in any way I’d call pain. Just stretched every few hours on waist high yoga ball I have that I use to loosen up and can get full stretch on. . My fever was 98.8 all evening. That’s not a fever, but I’m usually at 97.4 almost exactly. Back to 97.4 this morning, so it was elevated slightly.

I’d simply call it no side effects if I was fililng out a questionnaire as none were anything of note and more just vague. I can feel I got a shot obviously, but less than gym level soreness.

I guess I could still have something as in within 30 hour window. I have 145 tee time, which will be like 25 hour point, so I’m not expecting anything more, but it’s only ten minutes away if so.

Certainly no fatigue. I didn’t do shit all day as I had no plans, but I struggled to fall asleep more than anything.

Almost all 2nd shot sickness starts within 10 hours of receiving it.

I call it the "10 hour rule". If you haven't experienced major side effects by the end of 10 hours, you won't at all.

BTW my normal temp is also around 97.3-97.4 nowadays.

Good to know. At the couple hour point it had that I might get sick feel. As I said, the beginnings of cold and headache, and I started to think if 6 hour is peak I might indeed get a little sick. Had a coffee, what felt like beginnings of headache evaporated. I stretched throughout day. I always do that for neck before I do anything where my head almost hits ground and I get full arc. That helped with stiffness and neck, which might have been root of headache. In general, it was nothing. I feel much worse on days the weather turns abruptly. More achy. With both parents having zero effects, I was pretty confident. Glad it’s done and two weeks is ticking.

If anything gets you, I’m going to guess it’s not sickness, but a headache. If you have any preventative measure you can do to get ahead of one, which seems doubtful or you’d already do it. For me any headache is always hydration.

If you have or have had blood clots in the past don't take it.

You will also have to take yearly booster shots so pharmaceutical companies can make even more money.

So seeing today that the Johnson & Johnson 1 shot is giving people blood clots possibly, and some but not in very large numbers yet, bad negative side affects happening from it now. 1 person may have died, but I know its so statistically improbable that I wouldn't overthink this myself, actually. It really does actually come down to the Risk/Reward Calculus of it al for me, entirely in my mind. And what I think actually is best for me long run. I'm not even one bit at all concerned about this lol virus, so I kinda am starting to think of not even bothering with this vaccination now (selfishly I know..).

Just let everyone else get Vaccinated and then the lol virus wont even be a thing if at all then right =)...

My mom told me she got "the worst headache of her life" with the Moderna vaccine 2nd shot, but she forced herself to tough it out and take nothing. Given that I'm genetically half of her, I'm not liking my chances to avoid similar side effects, but I'll also just deal with what will be one of life's least pleasant days.

Have fun with the corona in May!

They said take all the over counter meds you would take for regular flu symptoms

    Who is "they"?

This is actually a source of controversy. Nobody knows the exact answer to whether you should take any pain relievers while sick from the 2nd shot. Some say it's okay, some say only Tylenol, some say none at all.

However, it's universally agreed that the safest bet is to take nothing, unless you absolutely can't stand it.
