When I was young and had a lot of disposable cash during the poker boom I used to frequent the Asian spas. Never actually had sex though, despite plenty of opportunities. No moral qualms, was just too concerned about STDs. A couple times I got BJs and even that really caused a lot of worrying on my part. I know you live somewhere in the valley, but there are probably 2,000 Asian massage parlors within 100 miles of you. When I lived in West LA there were like 10 within a couple square miles of my house. I would be shocked if the closest one was 5 miles away. Also FWIW the strip mall places are normally populated by older women that are 35+. The young trafficked girls are mostly found through escort services and work out of condos in nice areas (You should actually know all of this already, as I remember you used to post about one of the bigger online escort websites until it got shut down). I would be shocked it you walked into a strip mall place and there was any young, trafficked girls in there (unless they were trafficked 20 years ago).

I had a discussion with my dad over the weekend about the whole paying for sex thing. Background: he’s been divorced three times, he’s terrible with women and picking the right ones. He’s a successful businessman with plenty of money and he thinks giving his wives money to do whatever will make them happy and stay around forever. What really happens is they ask for more and more and him not being a complete retard is like uh no. So in short they get comfortable not working and when he puts a limit on how much money he gives them the women get mad and bounce. Now granted this wasn’t the case with my mom (first marriage out of college and no money).
Anyways we were having a bourbon and talking about this new woman he wanted to date. And I asked him why not just get a high end hooker once or twice a month since he really just wants to get laid. We went in depth about how much money the last two divorces cost him. I know first hand because I helped him with negotiations and payments and especially with the last one. Mainly with her severance package to not have to deal with alimony ect.
Aaaannnyways, we both came to the obvious conclusion that it would be a lot cheaper to go the hooker route twice a month than get a new woman.
So basically I’m just saying I can see why men get hookers or why some guys just want to have a woman jerk them off every once in awhile. For some men it’s the more practical option.
I can't speak for anyone else but when I was into massages a long time ago getting a decent massage was actually a pretty big part of it. For $40-60 you know you aren't going to get a great massage, but you can get a half decent one, and lay down and relax while you are at it.. And then if you want extras you can normally get it (and pay more too). Good way to just relax and unwind for 30-60 minutes without breaking the bank.
I was never into the places that just offered sex services without a legitimate massage.
Also, at the time in LA there was no risk at all. I looked into it a little, and at that time even in the rare occasion when police raided the parlors, they NEVER went after customers, they just went after the masseuses and owners. Whether this has changed or not, I don't know. I haven't heard about what happened to Kraft ever happening in LA, but I wouldn't be super surprised if it has either.
BTW, Marriage is the Oldest Form of Prostitution. B.S. to thinking you're not paying for sex. While you're not paying $$$$ per service performed, you're buying houses, cars, jewelry, trips, clothes, groceries and every meal you eat together. Tell me again, how marriage is not prostitution....
Oh, and the reason, Divorces are so expesive...is because they're worth it. I speak from experience.
