    Commoditizing Illicit Street Drugs

A malevolent dichotomous mechanism exists in some drug users which is responsible for bringing some users to a point of insanity. When a euphoric experience is expected, but a profoundly dismal experience takes place, a bit more sanity is lost with each new episode. Some consumers of illicit street drugs call this “chasing the dragon”. There is a stigma associated with drug use that leads many users feeling distraught, heart-broken, empty and abysmal once the drug is ingested. Yet the expectation of ingesting a drug is a light-hearted feeling of euphoria. In fact, the natural biochemical response within the body most certainly should illicit happy feelings of euphoria. However, the stigma attached to the drug use creates a detrimental mechanism within the mind that permeates through the body, soul and spirit which leads many users to insanity.
Removing the stigma associated with drug use would allow a user to experience the effect of the drug without falling into the trap of addiction. The user would not become addicted in a scenario lacking the mechanism responsible for driving the person insane, continually taking the drug in an effort to reach an expected feeling of euphoria they felt was deserved. The person ultimately using their body the way they wanted. By ingesting drugs as a means to reward themselves or celebrate in some way. Removing the stigma of drug use goes beyond making drugs legal. Drugs could be legalized, yet if the stigma remained, society would only be worse off, with the addictive nature of drugs remaining, and use increasing, leading to the overall consequence to society becoming more severe.
The war on drugs will never end unless drugs are made legal. No one wants to fight the war on drugs, yet the masses are not willing to take the reformative sweeping action that will solve the problem all at once. Commoditize cocaine and let a laissez-faire market emerge. The system is broken.
    How do you feel?

War on drugs just doesn't really do anything positive. The amount of people that don't do drugs is negligible because they are illegal compared them being legal. There's a small bump after legalization, but on the long run it's a wash or slightly negative.

The biggest difference is that illegal drugs cost more compared to non retarded legalization models. And you get rid of class related issues. After a certain tax bracket you can get wasted with no personal risk. Shopping doctors and all that jazz.

I personally am in favor of legalizing every commonly used drug for recreational use. They are common because of minimal risk. Even fentanyl is very safe when properly administered and packaged/prepared. People die of it because of cement mixers aren't precise and the drug in question requires precision. Grant total of not a single person has died of it in a hospital setting. Medical grade ampules of fentanyl are very precise for a reason.

Benzos are amazingly safe. The reality of illegal trade is that fentanyl/carfentanyl is cheaper than dirt cheap alprazolam. Better know as Xanax. You will literally never die from that. Your best bet is to try to choke yourself, but you will like pass out before that. On the other hand a single pill of counterfeit Xanax can kill you.

People simply almost never die of a drug overdose in hospital setting. It has less to do with better knowledge vs everything being what it says in the tin.

The War on Drugs is a huge boom to politicians and those in the justice and law enforcement systems who are opportunistic, albeit naively or cravenly, in making careers out of “fighting drug abuse”.

Other than that, it is an absolute disaster for the communities where people are more likely to abuse recreational drugs to escape the emotional toil of their circumstances, such as the poor and marginalized. The rich and politically connected who fall into drug abuse most likely can avoid the harsh criminal law consequences of a illicit drug arrest, and that’s even assuming that police are actively investigating such crimes given the political heat they would get from arresting a lot of people who can afford good attorneys.

The other insidious consequence of criminaling drug use is that it fosters an adversarial relationship between the police and drug users who are otherwise law abiding citizens. This motivates the users to avoid the police, as well as seeking treatment and counseling for their drug use/habit, as well as motivates the police to treat people in lower income communities as likely criminals given the much lower likelihood of political fallout for routinely abusing their power in such communities.

Portugal, which decriminalized small-level drug possession in 2001, has essentially eliminated that adversarial relationship between the police and drug users, which has resulted in a dramatic decline in drug addiction, drug overdoses and drug-related crime. At a minimum, the US should follow Portugal’s lead.

Decriminalizing is slightly +Ev and doesn't really require anything. US is at a somewhat different position in that it would greatly benefit from full legalization. Proximity to cartels and street gangs makes it special case. The degree with how much US subsidizes street gangs/organized crime with drug policy is in a class of it's own. Italy is likely close in Europe and i'd assume China is most organized in Asia.

I don't have huge faith in drug companies doing the right thing about anything, but they are accountable. I don't really know anyone that would choose Mexican Cartels over drug companies. Illegals drugs are somewhere between 3-4 biggest commodity in the world. It's just too much money to hand over to organized crime families/street gangs.

The latest drug scare is that Etizolam has been discovered in some confiscated street heroin/fentanyl mix. I almost laughed out loud
when I read that. Etizolam is a knock-off of Valium. As gimmick said you would have to have a truck load fall on you to cause death.

Dealers are out to make money and that means diluting their product. Fentanyl is cheaper that heroin and is essentially the same thing so it was a marriage waiting to happen Coke is cut with just about anything but reports that Fentanyl is now the go to option are plain wrong. Not saying some customers wouldn't ask for will do for a fraction of the cost and bother.

And Gimmick is also correct in that Benzodiazepines are completely harmless mentally and physically, unless your Tiger Woods. The addiction problem is that of most medications. Once you realize that they can be your best friend

Yup pretty much no amount of Benzos is going to kill you. They potentiate respiratory failure from alcohol, opiates and few other things. The running theme being those can alone cause respiratory failure.

Oh and any cunt that want's to comment on this thread is free to do so. The way it works is by replies. Not a hard concept to understand. If you have nothing to say, then shut the fuck up.

Your opinion is worth nothing unless you put words behind it.

People die of drug addiction because of tolerance. Using the guise of if it’s legal, drug cartels are put out of business is stupid.

Using fucked up logic to legalize harmful substances doesn’t fix a problem, it makes it worse.

The biggest fuckup of widespread drug addiction was perpetuated by mainstream medicine and greedy drug companies.
    ...and that was LEGAL.

    FUCKING IDIOTS.

60 years of war on drugs and what has that given us. More drug users, out of control cartels/street gangs/prison gangs and illegal drugs are more dangerous than they have ever been. Amazing achievement.

Had alcohol still been illegal we would like have gotten rid of Split two decades ago.

Only difference between alcohol and most illegal substances is that most illegal substances are less toxic in their pure form. And who doesn't love tobacco. Benzos whish they were as habit forming.

How about educate the population. We've seen how well the model of take what doctor gives you model works out. There's a ridiculously short list of things you need to do to stay alive, avoid habit forming and what to do when you fuck up rule number one or two.

I have very little faith in the integrity if pharmaceutical companies, but they're legally accountable, they rarely break your legs, innocent bystanders don't get killed when they fight for market share and handful of other shit that make them tolerable in comparison.
