This is my favorite song of theirs; it’s criminally underrated and I never see anyone making an argument for this song being their best.

You can make a lot of cases for "best" soundgarden song, but the first love is always special. I knew of a few of their songs, but then in a guitar mag I saw that they had a tune that was tuned to open E. Not the standard open E tuning, which is an E chord, E-B-E-G♯-B-E. This one was E-E-E-E-E-E. Three octaves of E. That was a thing I had never even heard of before.

Sad note, I had this song on as Frankie Edgar just got ko'd badly, then the "somebody's best friend died" lyric hit. Damn.
