I don't know when this guy even joined Proud Boys, but the Proud Boys didn't even start until 2016, way after his informant days. So it looks like this is a whole bunch of fake news.

So it appears the real story is that some guy (probably with a checkered past) that was a police informant and put away several bad guys several years later joined a fraternal group that was ostensibly pro police. So basically there is no story and this is all fake news.

I didn’t even understand it as saying he was narcing on proud boys. I took it as a hit piece.

It’s not even fake news. It’s them saying you’re joining up with a rat, which when your purpose is domestic terrorism, is probably not someone you want to join with.

This is something a news service almost never does. Very strange. Opens them up for a huge lawsuit possibility were his associates to kill him because of their article. I wonder if they threatened a NYT reporter or something? You don’t usually see this type of story until someone is dead or in witness protection. It’s like outing a former police informant that is now the leader of a biker gang.
