Shane Sigsbee describes himself as a professional sportsbettor and poker staker. I've heard of him before, but don't know much about him. I had not heard of Jon Martinelli.

In case you're wondering, Sigsbee was simply reporting this, and was NOT involved in the bet.

Basically Martinelli took part in what is called a "vig free chat", where trusted sportsbettors bet on opposite sides, without having to pay the normal sportsbook vig of 10% or more. That's a great idea, as long as you can find action AND trust the person to pay.

Sigsbee is accusing Martinelli of taking $500k of such action on Ohio State in their game against Alabama on January 11th. When he lost, Sigsbee claims Martinelli simply stated he couldn't pay and didn't have the money -- making it a premeditated freeroll. Sigsbee further claims that Martinelli did it to help his brother -- accused of murdering his 7-month-old son -- with legal expenses.

Really bad, if true.
